Saturday Morning Quarterback Postgame: Monrovia rolls over Duarte; Rosemead blows up San Dimas; Temple City shutsout Azusa; Rio Hondo Prep romps Boron

Marquise Williams is one of the most complete players I have ever seen. The senior running back rushed for 233 yards and scored five touchdowns to lead the Wildcats.
Duarte's Jordan Canada will be fun to watch next season. The junior had 280 all-purpose yards and scored two touchdowns, a 39-yard run and a 72-yard touchdown catch.
Freddy, Freddy, Freddy. He said the Montview would sweep the Rio Hondo League but dude was so wrong. Rio Hondo League went out there and did their thang. Foks, for the first time this season, I went unbeaten!
Tonight's Results with my comments:
Rosemead 59, San Dimas 22, Final -- Monrovia gets another rematch in these playoffs after the Panthers' Tra Sumler rushed for 260 yards and scored five touchdowns to lead Rosemead in the win. No one believed you, Koffler, but I called it.
Monrovia 41, Duarte 21, Final -- Got to meet my boy ObservantCat at the game. Good lookin' out 'Cat. Not sure why Duarte didn't go with Canda early and often in the first half.
Temple City 17, Azusa 0, Final -- Max Ruckle rushed for 142 yards and scored a touchdown. Nobody believed in the Rams, but I called it (Goldenarm).
Rio Hondo Prep 42, Boron 14, Final -- Antonio Alanis, Chris Llamas and Charles Quintero each scored two touchdowns to lead the Kares, who led 36-0 midway through the fourth quarter. Alanis, Quintero and Tim Esguerra each rushed for over 100 yards. Nobody believed in the Kares, but I called it.
Saturday's second-round game
Maranatha vs. Big Bear at Big Bear Middle School, 1 p.m. -- Melendez (Maranatha)
Info on Maranatha's game at Big Bear: Big Bear High School plays its games at Big Bear Middle School.

Buses and spectator vehicles should park at the lower part of the campus in the Student Parking Lot on the west side of the school. Officials should park there also. Team vans or vehicles with equipment may drive up the driveway on to the track around the football field to drop off items but they may not park there. PLEASE, DO NOT PLAN TO PARK ON THE FIELD. Visitors will dress in the girls locker room of the middle school. It is located below the field areas at the south end of the gym (the second door east of the bus parking area).

Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

In the 1930s, the era of Art Deco and Chinese Knockoff Handbags are now more or less the way we know them today were square or round, and fabric or leather. In the 1940s during the Second World War has become the largest shoulder bag, square or round, and it was a revival of the bag with string. The pocket or purse looks more military look self-sufficient.

Thanks for piecing this together - this is a great article for those of us with our heads buried in the keyboard all day.
Mr. O cat,
You certainly seem to know a lot about what happening around the areas football program. All I know is that every player that produces offensively (accept the quarterback) is graduating. So you can down play that if you like. Secondly we do lose a lot of our line but still should be fine. But you also have to realize that you graduate most of your o linemen with a young probably 10th grade running back it will be hard. Most of our skill position players will be back next year. As far as Canada that’s the first time I’ve heard about him transferring. Maybe your source is better then mine.
Ex-Falcon:
The Good news for Duarte is that they do return Canada, The Bad news is that he is the only returner worth talking about. Monrovia Returns 9 out of 11 of it starting Defensive players. We have some of the Best JV's and Freshman Running Backs that could easily adapt at the Varsity Level, we are also the recipients of the top 5 incoming freshman from the Hawks. Duarte is losing it's entire starting OL and DL Monrovia will continue it's dominance until Crutch finds and answer. Mtown-Dtown rumor has it that the Canada's are looking elswere as we speak. But Good luck either way.
you did'nt spot us anything. jordan lives in duarte and plays for duarte. i hear that you have a great jv and freshman team. your going to need all of them next year. we return most of are starter and you graduate most of your. We wont need any excuses next year.
FALCON PRIDE!!!
Bigcat,
I hope your right about Rosemead. I have much respect for this opponent. Sumler is a real good back with a pretty good offensive line and thats where it all stops. But the last meeting Rosemead beat the cats on the deep post. But with Boggs,Cordero,Solomon, and Donovan, I think our pass defense is much better than what it was in week3. So with our DB's playing better pass defense we should have a better chance in stopping the run and not worrying about getting beat on the deep pass. But we'll see. I cant even be mad at miguel thinking the panthers will beat the cats, they're a good team. But if we get pass them, and have to face Paraclete, theres no way we'll lose to them if they're running the same offense they were running last week. Cuz that fullback wide open in the flats will not be open anymore the way maddox has these kids running to the ball
falcon42,
yeah I was at that game last year, but before that game when was the last time the falcons put work on the cats????? Dont worry I'll wait........Give up 2001-02 season 40-0 falcons. But other than that, its been onesided and you know it, so dont even go there with that 2wins in the last decade nonsense. I stand by my previous comment and it is what it is, this division is weak, and it cant get any weaker I think. I like it cuz now someone locally will get a good chance to win CIF, but at what cost, lack of competition?????? Dont know if that a fair deal but hopefully monrovia and/or T.C show dominance for the next few years and they move both schools up a division.
San Marino came to Monrovia, gonna be a close game, the 'Cats came through and won, 41-19.
El Monte came to Monrovia and the 'Cats won, 34-7.
Monrovia went to Duarte, spotted them a running back and the 'Cat's won 41-21.
Now the Panthers come to Monrovia and the 'Cats are underdogs. They aint dawgs, they're 'Cats and its the playoffs. Win or lose, the Panthers gonna get clawed Friday night. Go 'Cats!
CALPREPS

cmon people that is the biggest loss to any team this year and that's the lowest score this season to
Goldenarm,
Thanks for the invite. I am PROUD of all the WSGV teams that are representing well for this side of the 605, I just wish the Stangs could have been doing the same thing. But Anonymous is right, my team is "left out" and I'm forced to be "on hush." Wish I could retort with some good ol' fashion trash talk, but the truth is I can't...one and done once again, not much you can say about that. But I will be supporting all the locals this Friday and the Mead/M-town game should be a BATTLE! The bottom line is this....we have 75% chance of bringing a title home to the WSGV....good odds there.
Anyhow, the blog is yours for another week and hopefully one more after that. Keep up the good work and keep reppin' on the east side blog too. I see you BigM Lover!!! Good luck to ALL and bring that 'ship to the west side!
LET'S GO WSGV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Five local teams are in the semi-finals. Nice work. Miguel, I can't imagine that this week would feature anything other than football, can you?
Goldenarm...
Good review of Paraclete. A couple of additions:
- #51 and #59 have very good motors on the DL. They also start on an undersized OL. They, like the rest of the front, are smallish, but have GREAT feet and get off the block well. TC must FINISH their blocks if they're going to have success running at them.
- They have two QBs. #15 has been starter during their 10-win run. He can throw...and it needs to be respected. The formations they run with him are traditional: 2-back, even depth, with 3 receivers (sometimes they flex the TE)...dive, lead, power, sweep. #11 is their runner. He broke his collarbone early in the season and has been on the bench for a while. But he was inserted last night at halftime and immediately infused a little giddy-up to their offense. They like to run the DBL wing with him...featuring an option look. They don't like him to throw...even though he did complete a long corner route last night.
It will be tough for the TC D to prepare for BOTH offenses.
Fact is that Paraclete can be pushed around...you just have to meet their intensity and discipline.
I like TC in a close, low-scoring game.
congrats to Maranatha....sounds like a tremendous team victory
Regardless of how folks feel about Marantha's schedule this year, etc. What's with today's news article, it reads like a tribute to the losing team. Half time score was Big Bear 16, Maranatha 2 and once again the Minutemen adjusted their game, dug deep and came back strong. They have a fierce determination, regardless. I'm not a players parent or alumni so save those darts. Just very disappointed in the recent positioning / coverage of a team that's come so far in three years.
Citrus College is a beautiful stadium. Get ready for some cardio and mountaineering before you grab a seat on the visitor side though, sucker is vertical over there. Forget about finding a beverage.
Our home field will likely be a mud pit this Saturday. I love it, real football.
Anyone not attending the Mead-Monrovia, please come out and yell for the Rams. We will be big time underdogs to the Spirits of Paraclete.
I did a run down on Paraclete - but it got swallowed by blog review. 0 -0 was halftime score.
Bottom line is Paraclete has an extremely aggressive, headhunter D, with a ton of team speed. NV was much bigger and stronger on the line of scrimmage, but they were ineffective. #50 for NV was an absolute beast, but all hands on deck is required to beat Paraclete. You cannot hug block or "hit and go" on these guys, you must bring force and sustain blocks to be effective.
The scary thing is they remind me somewhat of Bishop Diego, not visually impressive, but supremely prepared attacking the ball with gusto. They are excellent tacklers. THERE ARE HOWEVER, some exploitable weaknesses I saw last night. TC is not doomed just yet.
On offense, their QB can throw deep, but under a rush was ineffective. NV nailed him a few times. They have 2 excellent running backs, and run off tackle very well. They made few mistakes last night.
Paraclete had major fan support last night, 1/2 the desert was in the stands.
We must triple our desire for contact - to beat this team. They like to bang.
MIGUEL
can you please pull some entries out of the blog editor review black hole
thx
Falcons42:
Last year we Had Most of our back-up guys in the game as well. Marquise was injured and so were about 5 other starters. By the end of last season you guys got worse as the Wildcats got Much Better. This year more of the same. But good luck Next year.
Not only should you M-Town get more coverage, read the lame article written about a Pasadena Team that made it to the Semi's. You would think it was a Big Bear paper instead of a Pasadena one.
I try not to be bias but your article really leaves us wondering.
Good job to all the teams still in the running.
philly b, when we beat monrovia last season, the score was not close at all. 42-21? which actually shouldve been 42-14, they scored late in the fourth quarter on our jv. that is not close at all.

bigmlover,
Dwight Smith left m-town to attend colony in ontario. He then left colony to go back to Texas.
Hey, Congrats to the the Rio Hondo Teams-Monrovia and TempleC for their latest wins and going deep into the playoffs.
-I just think a little more coverage might be appropriate, the preps video link should have something on these games right????
Anyone know where RB/LB Dwight Smith, last year's Monrovia #2, is playing?
Bailey is an assistant coach at Hoover. And I don't mean the Hoover High from Alabama ;)
Philly...
Monrovia and TC are home next week.
Monrovia vs. Rosemead on Friday
Temple City vs. Paraclete on Saturday
Good Luck, RHL!
Know this is random but do any of you guys know where Deon Sumler is playing or if he still is, and what about the Arcadia running back Bailey (from a few years ago)?
Anyone know yet who won the toss between monrovia-rosemead? Congrats, to M-town, T.C. and rosemead for getting pass the 2nd round of the playoffs. Someone wrote earlier about they were tired of getting beat by the Lompoc, Paso Robles, Torrance, etc. But think about everyone is celebrating about Monrovia and the other locals about getting pass the first round. But this division is very weak. Dont get me wrong a win is a win. When I heard the division was re-aligned again after only a few years of our "mid-valley division" and I found out that we would have to play duarte, rosemead again possibly in the playoffs, I thought it was making it somewhat weak. I mean should not be mad about getting whipped by some of those schools I mentioned, but we should of been hoping our teams whoever they are would match up to the competition the next year. But again I saw the 2nd half of the game, and was cheering and clapping the rest. But in the last eight years Duarte beat us only two times, and I only remember two times the score being close. Duarte is not on Monrovia or anybody west of Duarte's level.
I definitely think Coach Maddox should be considered for coach of the year. I mean he got the team moving in the right direction after 3games???? I mean you gotta give it to the man. I was concerned after the Arcadia game, as well as others with his wing-t offense that is new to the cats, they put all together, and went through league with ease, with the exception of T.C. but with the talent at monrovia, if we get pass Rosemead friday, and thats if we do, because rosemead is a very good team, with a very good back, Then Monrovia should be the dominant force in this very sub-par division. If you ask me I'd like monrovia to move into the pacific league along with T.C. and maybe San marino. And have Glendale, Hoover, Roll down to the RHL along with La Salle. Think about it Monrovia, Muir, burroughs, Burbank, T.C. San Marino. You know that sounds nice. Well Goodluck cats, I know Maddox will have you guys ready for friday, Goodluck T.C. whoever you end up playing, hope its northview and not Paraclete.
at least we were toasty warm!
yes that was sad they should of gave us there side
we could have used the room
uncle cat...
Here's a better question...where were the Duarte fans? Pathetic support...our stands outnumbered theirs 5 to 1.
was at the first game against rosemead not the same
team from monrovia, should be a much better game. do have one question for duarte high school what happened
to the national anthem last night ??????????
SGVGUY
Northview first has to worry about getting by Paraclete, an excellent team. If NV is overlooking this team, it will be lights out.
What u r saying is exactly what was said about Azusa, just substitute "Northview". We were picked to lose by most. The Rams are playing their best football of the year, and whatever happens, happens. Maybe NV is the better team, but that sure as hell won't be decided on this blog.
In case you have not noticed, the Rams have some serious characters on their Offensive line. Azusa was not the horrible team you suggest, they were simply outgunned by some very physical line play and a outstanding defensive effort.
F B Einstien,
trust me bud i'm pulling for TC,
local sgv team, but my point again,Arroyo? Asuza? yeah they were 10-1,true,but so was San Marino or something close to that, get my point?
Tc will have to play almost perfect and NV would have to miss lots of tackles, and that is very unlikely-
there two inside backers are huge, not to mention excellent tacklers. It would be a very tall order for the Rams, but hey anything could happen.
Wow big win for Maranatha! I hope they can pull off the upset against St. Margarets. I wonder what will be going through Matt Schilz's mind when he takes the field.
New York,
wow, my bad on the trench warfare, I'll go sit in my World History Dunce corner and refrain from using allegories for the rest of the season.
I didn't mean to compare this years TC team to ones of the past, I only meant to point out that these new division alignments have finally fallen in TC's favor, no more shall Inglewood, Lompoc, Crespi, or Verbum Dei crush the hopes of RHL teams, it is finally our turn.
ALL RIGHT, Tied 16-16 after regulation. Bg Bear scores first and doesn't make the PAT. Maranatha scores, make the pat and wins the game 23-22
Now onto St. Maggies.
Marantha beats Big Bear in overtime, 23-22.
lol
Off course la habra will beat rosemead no doubt but you guys are from another planet so you don't count on this :p
Miguel: I've been getting text messages from Big Bear all afternoon. Game tied 16 - 16 with seconds left. OT here we go
Nervo,
WWI was in the trenches.
Also, enjoy the moment but there is no need to compare to past teams.Didnt the Rams in 01 get beaten by a ferocious Inglewood Squad. Then the Rams in 06 fell to a loaded Verbum Dei. The last time TC was this deep was 1998. They had to take a five hour bus ride and face those monster linemen in Paso Robles. TC got blown out that night.
The playoff gods have smiled upon the Rio Hondo teams this year. We could not have asked for better pairings. Real football starts this week.
Congratulations to Monrovia and Temple City, but Friday night is over. Time to refocus and make it an all Rio Hondo final, the one we wanted exactly 10 years ago!!!
Re: lol
Spoken like a real know-it-all! Sounds like you need to go watch Rosemead play and then take in a few more games in the area, then go play in traffic.
The Cats will be in the game have no doubt.
Just a footnote*
The other day I saw Superman on the street. He was wearing a Marquise Williams Jersey!!
I guess everyone needs a Hero...
rosemead sucks the only reason they are doing good is because they are in a crap division wat is it like division 11 when are they gunna step up go la habra!!!!!!!!!!!!
rosemead sucks the only reason they are doing good is because they are in a crap division wat is it like division 11 when are they gunna step up go la habra!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did not know that the score in the 4th quarter was so close in the Monrovia vs. Rosemead 1 game..It was 28-21 Rosemead with 7:20 left. The final was 42-21.I think if the Cats can control those late mistakes it could be one for the ages...
Good job Monrovia and TC you make the RHL PROUD!!
GO RAMS !!!
GO CATS!!!
Re: SGVGUY
There is truth in what you are saying but keep in mind that Azusa was 10-1 and TC not only beat them but had their way with them on both sides of the ball. I haven’t seen Paraclete or N-view play but I have seen TC and they are playing their very best football. If you look at TC’s losses this year with the exception of Rosemead they have been in every game. Alhambra and San Gabriel stole there wins on 4th down in the 4th quarter, Monrovia was lucky that Hatch barely missed #25 in the corner of the end zone with less than 30 sec. All I’m saying is, TC is playing complete football and that’s what you should be doing this time of year...anything can happen.
SGV Guy...
Paraclete is the real deal! You should focus on beating them...you're the last hope for the Eastsiders.
Golden,
I've seen TC this year and I've seen Northview.I have not seen Paraclete.I will tell you this and don't get me wrong cause I'm pulling for Coach Backus, but the truthe is Arroyo? Asuza? If Northview should win tonight,I just can't see the Rams with an upset.NV has some big time Lb's to stop the run,and Wr's will be too much for the Rams.
Now THAT'S Wildcat Football!
Welcome to the Semis, Monrovia...first time since 1999.
The best part about the win last night is that we didn't try to be someone we're not...we played our game of up-the-middle running, timely counters and gang-tackling, pressure defense.
That is just the way we will beat the Panthers...by executing and remembering who we are.

They were in OUR WAY:.. They represented the Great Mission Valley & Montview Leagues.. Next...or do you have a schedule that would better suite your needs?
Goldenarm, Stang Fan is where he should be, playing left out and on Hush.

This will be a better game. Yes you guys did win the first one thats why they call these the Playoffs. It's when you leave it all on the field not on the blogs. If you think that you are going to wipe the Cats all over the field you better go see the Rio Hondo game so that you dont get your pride hurt. This game will seperate the Men from the Boys. Both teams have good players, well see who comes to play.

If you think that you are going to wipe the Cats all over the field you better go see the Rio Hondo game so that you dont get your pride hurt. This game will seperate the Men from the Boys. Both teams have good players, well see who comes to play.
Stang Fan,
you should be on this train
o-cat,
I still doubt monrovia. Come on now o-cat, how can you get excited beating a ugly el monte & duarte team. That's just a bit better then blair and keppel. The real test is next week against rosemead who stuck it to you all the first time around.
Ram Fans
I am pretty sure that regardless of who wins - Northview or Paraclete, TC's next game will be at home, on Sat Dec 6. Miquel, correct me if I am wrong.
One added fact on TC D last night, Azusa was averaging 40 points a game.
Paraclete had a busload of scouts at the game.
0-cat,
M-town will not only be strong next year- but providing Maddox remains, could grow into a powerhouse of area football, year in and year out.
Maddox is an exceptional coach and motivator, a consensus builder who can bring kids together and make them believe. As a father, if you watch him on the practice field, you would want your son playing for him. Combine that would his football IQ, and thats the endorsement that fits for me.
"Azusa made me a believer too, and has a great match-up against run-oriented Temple City, which fits right into their game plans."
Ouote above was on my refrig all week ...apparently TC DID NOT FIT INTO THEIR GAME PLAN AFTER ALL. I know R Murphree already seized on what the Trib and many others have been saying about Westside fball, but it is worth repeating.
If you look at the Mead, Monrovia and TC games, the Westside not only won, but dominated all 3 games. These were statement games. Regardless of what lies ahead we have already said our piece loud and clear.
And, we all know - we are not done yet.
Azusa was a 10-1 team, a very good team. They were averaging 260 yds rushing per game...we allowed them 31 yards. On the other side of the ball, only the officiating crew could slow the Rams attack. It was an air/ground assault. Hatch was on target and GBL made one catch that should lie in the TC Hall of Fame archives.
We played as well, if not better than the San Marino game. Hats off to coaches Loya and Valdes for stepping up and preparing our kids. It is near impossible to highlight just one or two kids who played exceptional - everyone did.
Rosemead/Monrovia II...To all MHS fans,To refresh your memory The first game was without Mr. Tra Sumler in the second half remember he got kicked out of the game and still RHS won without him look what he did to the overrated SD team.
I saw some Ex-TC coaches from San Marino there at the TC game last night watching the Rams dominate the Aztecs. Maybe they wanted to kick themselves in the butt for leaving LOL.....Go Rams !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To All of the Monrovia Doubters please stay tune to next week when we take you from Duarte to the Outer Limits. But on the real, Marquise showed tonight why teams should take a second look at trying to contain him with a game plan made for
rookies. He had some of the most Athletic Plays I've seen in a running back in some time. If I were a coach I would probably just make a deal with the opposing team to just accept him getting Three Td's and 250 yrds. And just try and battle it out with the rest of his team. He and Tra Summler play heads and shoulders above the rest of All of the running backs I've seen this year. Jordan Canada is probably the most unpredictable running back in the game, With a better supporting cast this Kid could be a real monster. I could see him taking Bishop Amat to the promise land and actually winning not just hoping to win. Monrovia vs. Rosemead ll will be by far a much better game than San Dimas/Rosemead. Summler proved better than both their backs combined and whoever this WIthem Cat was He must be carrying Summlers bags to the bus. I called this one from the start. San Dimas is a great offensive team but with NO Defense you will Get ROBBED every time. I hope Monrovia Wins the Coin Flip and Plays this one at home. We Love the Mountain View. Both Running Backs are very dynamic and both Defenses come to play lights out. Next Time San Dimas you must pay your light bill. Next Year will be a rebuilding year for almost every team. Monrovia has a full house joining the Varsity team along with the new head coach Maddox. Good luck in your next two game..... see you at the podium.
Wow! What a showing by the TC RAMS. Talk about a complete game. TC’s defense didn’t let Azusa past the 50 yard line all night. The Offense had their way too. With all that has been happening with the Rams this year it’s a credit to that coaching staff for what they have accomplished. Go RAMS!
Props to Miguel on calling the Rosemead win!
If they win the championship you will have called it.
War of the Cats II next week!
I stand corrected, Ruckle did score a TD on a sweep left, I know he came close a few times on 20 yard runs, but wasn't sure if he made it all the way.
The Rams did great tonight. Had a very well-balanced pass/run attack, leaning moreso towards the run side. Hatch connected with Bruno-Lopez and Werner a few times for some big 30 yard plays. I am 99% sure both TDs were passes, one to each of them, but I might be wrong. Ruckle kept pounding away, often getting 2-3 yards in front of the LOS before being touched by D-linemen, and then powering his way to another 3-4 yards. Kudos to the Rams linemen. As we learned form WWII, all wars are won in the trenches, and the O-line dominated upfront, while the Ram D-line was up in the QBs kitchen all night long.
Congrats to to the '08 varsity rams, they did what the Malczynski/Reed(sp?) crew of '01 and the Soumak, Smith, Saxon, O'Malley crew of '06 couldn't, get past the 2nd round. Good Luck Rams, nothing would be more exciting than a rematch of either the 'Mead or the 'Cats in the finals, but keep yourselves focused in the here and now, worry about Northview/Paraclete first.
And good luck to both rosemead and monrovia, hopefully the WSGV will have a CIF champ this year.
Thx Miguel ill be there too...Saw the Paraclete coaches at the Azusa game already scouting on the winner of tonights TC/Azusa game i guess they are overlooking Northview already...hahahahahaha
Thx Miguel ill be there too...
Wow! What a game the MD CLASSIC II was! M. Williams proved that he deserved that MVP award he got in the first game. The beginning of the game I was nervous because the pigeons came out flying and the Cats were acting like kittees. But once they got lite it was on! Great game! Congrats to the WILDCATS on a job well done!
The address to Covina District Field is 220 West Puente, one block west of Citrus Ave.
I will probably be at the Northview-Paraclete game
does anyone have an address of Covina distrcit field thanks !!!!!
Congrats to the Panthers!
Tra Sumler a great football player on both sides of the ball...Koeffler and staff do a great job.
San Dimas Marshmellow's? #44? SOFT,SOFT,SOFT?
Fumbles or no fumbles they didn't want no part of the panthers. They got punched in the mouth and that was it!
If they can stay healthy(Sumler) Rosemead wins the championship!!!
Sumler was outstanding tonight. He makes people miss and finds a way to get that extra yard.He rushed for something like 258 yards and five TD's. No one would expect San Dimas to fumble four times in the first 6-7 minuets of the game. Down 27-0 San Dimas had no passing game, which played into Rosemeads hands.Joey Diaz played very well at DE.Good Luck to the Panthers against M-town

RIO HONDO VS. MONTVIEW
I made a comment earlier this season that not much separated the top teams in the Rio Hondo and Montview, and heard plenty from our sensitive Westside neighbors. Well, we're about to find out. The best two teams in each league go head-to-head in the quarters, Duarte-Monrovia and Temple City-Azusa. Now that we're here, I'm going on record taking the Montview in a sweep. Just like DRanch-Muir, its hard to beat a good team twice, especially a rival. Plus, Falcons RB Jordan Canada was nowhere near as healthy as he is now, and it's at D-Town. Azusa made me a believer too, and has a great match-up against run-oriented Temple City, which fits right into their game plans. That's right, two Montview league teams in the semifinals. Don't laugh, it's gonna happen.
Who's Laughing now fred? Haha...
RioHondo League (2) Montview Zipppp!!
Congratulations Cats!! and Rams!!
I gotta say Robledo is consistent he called both games wrong!!
21-21 Burbank & WC. 5:38 left in 3rd quarter.
17-0 tc 8min left ...azuza off cant get anything done
Maranatha should win tomorrow and play at home next week vs...Yucca Valley. I don't see St. Margaret's winning tonight. Long bus ride, small school (389) vs. much bigger school (1649), much bigger players (Yucca has some huge linemen), Tartan depth problems, and the absence of the Tartan's starting tailback/leading scorer all converge to end the Tartan's 39 game winning streak.
Miquel,
Thanks for the follow up and story on Joey Stewart. He was a beast in the weight room last summer and his strength and psycho work ethic - was likely a motivating factor in getting our O-line as strong as they are this year.
TC will need an enormous game out of JS, Roy, Conora and teammates tonight on defense, if there is hope of slowing down the athletes Azusa puts on the field.
7pm Citrus college.......man I am ready!
Scott
uh oh! Watch now! This is the game to watch. U KNOW THEM WILDCATS GOT TO DO THEY THANG TONIGHT! I'll be there cheering on Son of mine! =)
