......Paraclete football reading the blogs......

Paraclete football coach Norm Dahlia was kind enough to take some time off and speak with me to talk some football.
As you know, the Spirits visit the San Gabriel Valley again this weekend when they take on Temple City at 7:30 p.m. in the semifinals of the CIF-Southern Section Mid-Valley Division playoffs.
Dahlia didn't straight out say it, but they're reading the blog from way up in Lancaster. He said he's been to Temple City and knows how loud the crowd can get out here.
On paper, both teams arguably look evenly matched with the exception that the Rams throw the ball a lot more than Paraclete.
This game could go quick with potent running backs at each team's disposal. The key to winning Saturday's game?
"Just staying consistent and lack of turnovers," Dahlia said. "The turnover battle is the most important battle in the game because it's a huge momentum changer, especially when we're playing at Temple City and I've been there in the past and the fans rally around the team."
I told Dahlia I was at the Paraclete-Northview game and commended his large contingent on the other side of Covina District Field, and that's when I found out Dahlia does indeed read the blog.
"I thought it was kind of cute that someone mentioned we brought half the desert," he said. "We have 800 students at our school and we are competing schools of (bigger) size and our parent following is huge with a lot of our sports so we trust that our parents are going to travel, that's been a tradition."
Dahlia was alluding Goldenarm's comment when he wrote in the Saturday Morning Quarterback Postgame thread, "Paraclete had major fan support last night, 1/2 the desert was in the stands."

funny, that's exactly what I was thinking about yesterday
Over the years, these jerseys have become very popular thanks to the strong followings the teams have. Most stay at home fans like to sport the jersey of their favorite player, while they cheer at the game on the big screen. Those that do make it to the big game, they enjoy having their NFL jerseys on to show the team they are supporting and they tend to look brilliant in a crowd of hundreds wearing the very same jersey.
Seriously?
Excellent job.
I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
Thank you for a great post

Hi buddy, your blog's design is simple and clean and i like it. Your blog posts are superb. Please keep them coming. Greets!!!
Miquel,
Paraclete scouted TC at the Azusa game in a full blazing regalia of football jackets with high school colors and PARACLETE emblazoned across their jacket backs. Talk about obvious, they came in the gate as a group of 5, I am surprised they did not turn the skylight on the group and have Jimmy Lennon Jr. announce Paaaaaaracleeeeete is here, so all could check it out.
Personally, I like that technique better than the old school method; two guys huddled high above the 20 yard line, sitting by themselves, dressed in homeless dudes clothes and trying to conceal their binoculars and notepad. Holding their combined bladders through 4 quarters - unsure of the reception they might receive in the Men's room.
If nothing else, the Spirits got some style.
Dahlia has got himself a solid bunch of kids and a team gifted with a slew of returnees from last year.
They were plenty impressive against a big, strong NV team.
Just about "everybody" have the Rams as 3 touchdown underdogs. I am sure the coaching staff at Paraclete is doing all they can to NOT allow the Spirits to look past TC - and ahead to the greater challenge of either the Mead or Monrovia.
Judging by the NV visitor stands, it was an impressive group of knowledgable fans vocally supporting Paraclete. Anyone who has played knows what that means on the field compared to a sea of empty seats and silence.
Dahlia is correct about the TC house, we are behind our kids 1000%.
Go Rams!
Anon,
I agree that Miguel has not totally covered the locals, but I personally see nothing wrong in his interview with Lancaster....it's not like he does it all the time. I have even searched other blogs in order to see what is going on in other areas. It is nice to have other angles and insights when it comes to out of our area opponents.... Good job, Melendez.
Anon,
Calm yourself... All they're doing is presenting a perspective of a opposing team... If anything, this post is enhancing the coverage of local teams, not detracting from it...
Anon, you should change your name to Mr. Sunshine. Oh, and when you get a real name I'll address your rant.
Are you kidding me? Your still doing it, a Pasadena based newspaper interview a LANCASTER team as the front page for the web. At least make the drive to T.C or even better. Write about the PASADENA teams.
Do you ever try to understand the idea of working for the demographic group that reads your paper?
I would understand if you had done all the local interviews and you were looking for something to write about but you have not touched the local teams, or gone into B-Ball, are you that busy avoiding Pasadena?
Maybe thats why the Star News outsourced a writing job to India last year.
