.........Robledo dreading Palmdale tomorrow night.........

As you know, Freddy and I will be making the drive to Palmdale tomorrow afternoon for the Rosemead-Paraclete CIF-Southern Section Mid-Valley Division championship game. We plan to leave Pasadena around 3:30 p.m. We'll have dinner somewhere up there, most likely Coaches in Lancaster but that's still up for debate. I'm prepared for the cold but looks like Freddy is freakin out!

From Robledo's blog:

Rosemead-Paraclete on deck: Rosemead, where you taking me? This is the weather forecast in Palmdale for tomorrow night's game.
Windy. Partly cloudy. A slight chance of showers...occasionally mixing with snow in the foothills late. Lows around 30. West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph. Chance of precipitation 20 percent. Help!

Very informative post and I kind of completely agree with you (except on two points) on what you said. Keep the good work going. Your writing style is very good and I was able to understand the post clearly even though English is my second language. PS: I have already subscribed to your blog’s RSS feed.

Miguel,

Rio Hondo is going for their 12th CIF-SS football championship, not 10th.

1973 (6-man, the last in the Southern Section), 1977, 1979, 1982, 1990, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001 (all 8 man), and 2005 (D-XIII). Rio Hondo was also CIF-SS runners-up 6 other seasons.

Not bad for a co-ed enrollment under 100 students.

Trojan Man,

Freddy and I are not leaving until around 3:30 p.m. from the Star-News office, which means we won't get to Palmdale until about 4:30 or 4:45. We'll try to swing by Coaches in Lancaster.

Jack,

Our very own Andrew J. Campa will be covering the Rio Hondo Prep game. Here's hoping the Kares can make it 10 CIF championships.

Miguel, if you are going to Palmdale who is covering the Rio, Riverside Championship. It seems like you should be covering that game instead of both of you covering the same game Is this an example of the lower division not being as important to cover as the bigger schools?

This game will probably come down to the better defense. Will RoseMead's Qb have consistant game? I think That will be Key.

Trojan Man,

However it goes down - please post your observations.

My 330am post should tell you - I 've got some funky work hours this weekend. I would love to break out the fur-lined bananahammock and be there - but need to put something in my wallet for Xmas, which is bearing down upon us.... like Tra Sumler with a head of steam!!

ROSEMEAD - WE NEED IT, WE WANT IT, BRING IT HOME.

Hot toddy is a name given to a mixed drink that is served hot, believed to have originated in the 18th century to make the taste of scotch more palatable to women.[citation needed] Although there are many variations, essential ingredients are:

a hot beverage which may be tea, coffee, cocoa, water, apple cider, etc.
an alcoholic spirit such as brandy, rum, or whiskey.
usually a sweetener, such as honey, sugar or syrup.

Hey Miguel and Fred,

I agree with the other gentlemen. Quit being the sissies (DORKS!) that you are! According to Accu Weather, it is 57 degrees at 6 pm and will drop to 48 degrees by 9 pm. Plus throw in a cloud covering to hold the heat in and it will be great football weather. The snow will be in the foothills above 5,000 feet. They ain't playing on Mount Everst. Rosemead will talk about this perfect night for football for 30 years! If it rains, save two dry footballs for the 2nd half, laminate the game plays, and change undershirts on the bus at halftime. This weather report is accurate, will the reporting of the gamebe? Your take Golden Arm/New York.

Stop being a Punk! Man up, this is football.

I've been to games in the snow and believe me there's nothing better than being in the stands jumping and cheering for your team for about two hours. The weather is just an obsticle but on Saturday you will feel the True SPIRIT' on ROSEMEAD's side.

Panthers depend on each other and beleive in each other that is what brought them this far. For all the fans from the Mid-valley League we hope you come to the game and support Rosemead!
