Pete Carrol clearly has his teams better prepared for bowl games than any other team in the country, consistently. Look how sloppy each team in the BCS title game looked in the first half. USC in every bowl game under Coach Carrol has opened crisp with very few penalties and turnovers. USC is very disciplined, but it is not the traditional discipline. Hey, Penn State's player profile pictures were all in coat and tie. USC's were in their football jerseys. However, I think Penn State on the field looked sloppy. Coach Carrol has these guys relaxed yet focused.

FBFan: I was at the game, and saw the "dance". it was embarassing that they would do that stunt right out on the field, right in front of the Penn State team that was lining up to receive the kick-off. Carroll's apparent lack of sensitivity to the issue is shocking. He bragged after the game that he wanted the officials to ring up his team with a penalty for that stunt so he could show the world how much fun his kids were having. low brow and classless was my take on it. fortunately the embarassment subsided a bit in the second half when the TD celebration dances were moved behing the USC sidelines.

This is just one of many examples of how USC lets their players act like complete idiots! Was anyone else disgusted by the "Soulja boy" dance they were doing on the sideline during the Rose Bowl. That was a total slap in the face to their opponent. It's reasons like that why they aren't in the national championship despite having the best talent in the country. If you ask me it starts up top.

what classless acts are you talking about? I have scoured through endless news stories, and well, i just cant find any. I have been to damn near every SC home game, and still no sign of classless acts. If this is you leading argument for you case, c'mon. Im trying to unbiased as possible, and I truly dont see a major issue with what Rey did. Overall SC players are coming away with success in NFL and life. Its not at the sake of winning. There is an attitude on campus and in the program that promotes success, positivity. Critics and nay-sayers have little clue as to what these young men go on to accomplish after playing under Caroll, because he allows them to enjoy their time there, all the while being responsible. Sure SC is not as conservative as lets say Stanford, Caroll is very liberal, but it works, and you havent heard of any misconduct of great magnitude, or even medium level magnitude.

These individuals are immersed in a kill or be killed environment, one which had you ever been close to it, would understand. There is no governor or restrictor plate attached to Maualuga's adrenalin output, the dude runs wide open....

He lost it, made a mistake, and apologized. His actions were neither premeditated or injurious in nature.
