Star-Jibber: Got turned away at PHS basketball game?

| | Comments (13) |

Discuss anything and everything you want....

Did anybody go to the Muir-PHS game and got turned away at the door? I can't imagine anybody liked the "Sold Out" sign posted on the doors. I found my way in. There's no denying this reporter, I'll tell you that much...

Impressive post on the blog man, I realistically like the look plus the feel of this blog page. You write essentially well, you need to be a knowledgable guy. Will without a doubt come back

Miguel,

Since you now live in SP you should probably go see the SP-LaCanada girls water polo game at SPHS on Thursday at 3:15. They are both highly ranked in CIF and it should be a heck of a game!

I reported on the Muir-Burroughs altercation because I was there and witnessed it first hand. I was not at the Muir-Burroughs basketball game which is why u didn't hear peep from me, and this is the first I hear about an incident.

Pride:
I'd be happy to hear ur concerns and suggestions on how we can better balance our coverage. I mean it.

Miguel,

I know you were not covering the game the other night, however nothing has been said about the Muir/Burroughs altercation that happened during the week. It was a well-played, intense game that ended in a Burroughs victory. What followed were words between players and it got a little heated. Things were seperated, but Muir players and fans left the gym still yelling and shouting profanities. Normally they would be exiting through a quiet weeknight at a school. However, on Wednesday it was 8th grade parent night. An open house to parents of middle school students and the kids themselves were visiting the school and the classrooms. When they saw and heard the trash talking and profanities of the people coming out of the gym, who knows what thoughts they were having.

Now my point is, after the Muir/Burroughs altercation during football... you and the rest of the board were left saying Burroughs is classless and can't handle losing. They are poor sports and do not represent the school with dignity. You left Muir coming out smelling like a rose. Yet, now no word has been said about Muir after this event. This type of sportsmanship is unacceptable under all circumstances for any team. But for this to happen on a night like this does not represent a school well.

I didn't go friday since I went to meet & greet Affliction MMA fighters with Ferrall & Chuck Zito, but I have been turned away a few times in the past, especially the PHS home games a couple years ago when they played CIF/State playoffs. At times there were over 100 ppl hanging outside of the gym awaiting updates from ppl inside. The worst event was the Fair-hacks debacle when they purposely left out visitors to let in their own and claim a sell out. It ensued a riot. It looked bad on tv news that Pasadena fans were trying to force their way in. PHS was moved to a higher playoff division and fought til the end.
