......While I was gone I......

The move is over. I'm officially a South Pasadena resident and it's back to business as usual. Some of you have been annoyed at my absence (Earth to Miguel) but I'm back in full force with the intent to have you covered in every angle: blog, notebook, gamers and columns. It's been a hectic two weeks but it's over now and I'm ready to get my hands dirty. Hope you all had a great holiday season.
While I was gone I.....(feel free to play along)
...Got done moving into my new house
...Tried to figure out how to clean hardwood floors
...Did way too much shopping for one person
...Spent New Year's alone for the fifth straight year; made my final trip unloading
...Covered the La Canada/Temple City Holiday Classic where La Canada and Alhambra played in a fabulous championship game. Clarke Anderson led the Spartans to a frenzy win over the Moors.
...The La Canada girls basketball team advanced to the New Year's Ball Tournament but lost to Agoura in the finals.
...Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, the Star-News' No. 1 team girls soccer team, finished December undefeated against the area teams they played with wins over Maranatha, Monrovia, La Salle, Pasadena, Mayfield and Flintridge Prep, outscoring those teams, 10-3. Overall, they are 8-3-2 on the season despite starting six freshman.
... The Monrovia boys soccer team is 11-0-3 and are winning with superb defense which has allowed only six goals thus far. The Wildcats won the Bosco Tech Tournament where they did not allow a goal and scored 14 in four games also claimed the Ontario Holiday Tournament championship.

Interesting layout on your blog. I really enjoyed reading it and also I will be back to read more in the future.
nice post. thanks.
Every time I stumble upon a really good post I go ahead and do one of three thing:
1.Show it to my relevant friends.
2.keep it in some of the best bookmarking websites.
3.Make sure to return to the same website where I read the post.
After reading this post I'm seriously thinking of going ahead and doing all 3!
Awesome, keep up the great posts
Quite informative, I will definately be back because i begin my subsequent project.
Excellent job.
Miguel,
Maranatha's Matt Schilz has verbally committed to Bowling Green University, he will visit the school 1-16-09. This is according to Rivals.com.
La Salle won the Los Tacos tournament.
So, who won the Los Tacos Soccer Tournament --LaSalle or FSHA (girls) and the La Canada Soccer Tournament?
Nice to know you are a metrosexual with your lavender scented house. HAY! Nothing wrong with that! Hope all goes with with the new house, girl and job. This could be your breakout year. With 5 sisters and a strong mother I know you probably learned a thing or tw
You are right that Flintridge Sacred Heart girls soccer was undefeated against local teams but they tied Pasadena and Monrovia and only beat La Salle on a PK tiebreaker which really is another tie. 4 - 0 - 2 or 3 - 0 - 3 depending on who you ask but not 6 - 0.
Just to make it clear, Angel Bec, I was alone by choice. This girl I was dating was very very sick (I picked her up from work New Year's Eve because of how sick she was) and I was moving all my furniture into my new house which made for an exhausting day. I've always felt New Year's Eve was overrated anyway. Don't worry bout me. I'm almost always in good company ;) Gotta love the fabulous single life.
As far as the hardwood floors, thanks! Although I'm really working on my house smelling like lavender vanilla. I blame my five sisters for that one. The diet is going great; lost four pounds already and it's only been a week. This blog will blow up in the coming days. Stay tuned.
Welcome back!
I can help you with the hardwood floors. It's called "Murphy's" and it's an orange oil that is sold in a plastic bottle and it will clean the floors as well as make your house smell good.
As for not having a date for New Year's - there is a lot of that going around. Maybe it can be your first resolution for next year?
Here's to a great winter and spring and summer and fall coverage of the area sports.
Blessings and good luck with the diet :)
My bad Viking Fan. We should all meet up at Liliana's in East L.A. Some of the best tamales I've had have come from there.
You both suck. You didn't offer any tamales to the rest of us.
I had a few tamales myself, GA. They were the best this Mexican has ever had. My brother's girlfriend's mom cooked them. Don't worry, my mom agreed they're the best we've had.
I LOL when I read that a Rose Parade float almost got decapitated. That would have been one sight to see.
This blog slipped into a coma indeed but I hope you all understand why it did. It's back to business as usual my friends.
The new place is G-R-E-A-T! It took a few days to get used to living in a big house but I'm loving it more and more. I went jogging at Garfield Park and indeed I was the only Latino there. But I'm used to that anyway. When I helped covered the Dodgers/Angels/Lakers I was almost ALWAYS the only Mexican reporter working for a major newspaper.
Please, no graffiti. The place looks too good =)
Miquel -
while you were gone.....
one giant Rose Parade float almost got decapitated by a wire across Colorado Blvd.
GA ate so many tamales my butt cheeks feel like masa
the blog slipped into a coma
So Pas updated their ethnic survey to include one additional Latino
how is the new place? Can we swing by and add some grafitti?
