Pasadena will face Rio Mesa Friday. They beat Oak Park 3-1 in their wildcard game today.Rio Mesa finished tied for 4th in a seemingly weak Pacific View league who only boasted two teams with winning records.

Who has the best draw in Div V?

Temple City v. Pacific - Don't know a lot about Pacific, but I do know that their league is very even - much like the Rio Hondo League. However, as a whole their league is weaker than teh Rio Hondo. TC has a good shot in this game. I think that if TC gets by Pacific they will have a much easier time in the second round. In Round three, though, they would probably face Hesperia (highest seed in that group). On paper, Hesperia is impressive, but they have a 1-0 win over Pacific. So, if TC gets by Pacific, they do have a grood chance of making the Semis.

La Canada v San Gorgonio - Same as the TC game against Pacific. SG is from the same league as Pacific. In fact, they battled for the league title - back and forth all season with Pacific and the number 2 team in San Bernardino. I think La Canada will win, especially since it is at La Canada. The second round though, they will prbalby face Lakeside. Lakeside is very quick and has excellent ball control. I have seen them play a few times. They play in a very hard league. If it is at Lakeside, I will give it to Lakeside. In La Canada, then La Canada will have the edge. This should be an excellent second round game. A La Canada win in this game will set up an extemely hard match-up with Baldwin Park - one of the top seeds.

Monrovia v Arroyo Grande - Monrovia is favored. Arroyo has to drive a far distance. Arroyo, though, is not a weak #3. Their league is very tough and the skill level in the North is excellent. I would still give it to Monrovia. The second round match up agains tprobably Desert Mirage will be easier, even though Desert Mirage was first in their league. The De Anza league is very week. I acutally wouldn't be surprised if Desert Mirage gets knocked off by Serrano. Either way though, Monrovia will get by this team and get to the quarters. Monrovia will have a hard quarter final match against Salesian - with the Baldwin Park La Canada - will be the match of the quarters

Blair v Righetti - Blair will lose. Righetti is amazing this year. I think Righetti may win the whole thing. Blair doesn't travel well. And, they have a long bus ride ahead of them. The teams from the south don't fair well going up there. If they pull off the upset, they will have a chance against Paloma Valley who shoudl have no problem with New Comm. Jewish.

Therefore, I believe that TC has a good draw to the quarters and the easiest quarter final match. La Canada will get to the quarters easier than TC, but will have a harder time getting to the semis. Monrovia's first round match will be hard, but then should have an easy time until they face Salesian in the quarters.

It is possible that Div V will have three rio hondo league teams in the quarters with TC have the easiest match in the quarters. If they all get by their quarter final match TC will face La Canda - edge La Canada and Monrovia will have the hardest draw against Righetti. Monrovia may have the tougest draw.

Should be exciting
