Hot Toys just recently previewed a 1:6th size Spider-Man action figure based on the third film. It seems to be tremendous in the teaser pictures. Definitely the greatest Spidey figure to date. Unfortunately it might not be out until a few more weeks.
Great finding this website. If you're seeking a property in Naples Florida, I will be willing to help you find it. Have a Great Day. Wishing you a Happy and successful New Year!

Area Fan,
You obviously know very little about amateur softball outside the San Gabriel Valley. Grant, Ferri, Gogreve, and Edwards have the most elite travel ball experience of anyone in the area. Based on your impertinent remarks and assumptions that these athletes do not play on an elite level, you probably have never even heard of these teams. But let me educate you...
Hanning's Orange County Batbusters:
Both Ferri and Grant have played on these teams. Grant played for the Batbusters the fall of her junior year and Ferri played for the Batbusters her sophomore year and a majority of her junior year. The summer after Ferri's sophomore year, the Batbusters came in 2nd place to the Worth Firecrackers at 18Gold Nationals (which is held in Oklahoma at the Softball Hall of Fame Stadium, you probably aren't aware of this either). The year before the came in first beating the Worth Firecrackers. Here are just a few of Ferri's teammates who were apart of that squad: UCLA's Donna Kerr, Katie Schroeder, Monica Harrison, Andrea Harrison, and GiOnna DiSalvatore; Tennessee's Cat Hosfield, Shelby Burchell, and Tiffany Huff; Arizona's Brittany Lastrapes; and Florida's Aja Paculba. Some other names you might recognize who have played for the Batbusters are Jennie Finch, Andrea Duran, and Keira Ghoerl...just to name a few.
...and to think you didn't think they were "elite"...
Teamsmith
Both Grant and Gogreve and currently playing for Teamsmith, to my knowledge. Although they did not make it to 18Gold ASA Nationals, they probably came a lot closer to it than any of the players you know, areafan, with your so-called "elite" AFA and Triple Crown tournaments. LET'S FACE IT, ASA IS THE HIGHEST FORM OF AMATEUR SOFTBALL, END OF STORY.
Valley Breeze
Both Ferri and Edwards are currently playing on Valley Breeze. Although Edwards was not on the team during the summer, Ferri was and helped lead them to an 11th place finish at 18Gold ASA Nationals after just recovering from a broken pitching hand. They beat many of the most "elite" teams in the country, most notably Arizona Desert Thunder, whose pitcher was Gatorade Player of the Year and will be attending UofA (or University of Arizona, since you may not be that educated in the "lingo"), Kenzie Fowler.
Bottom line, you don't think these players play for elite teams because YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT ELITE IS!
that is all

What so called Elite 18U Gold teams did Grant, Ferri, Edwards and Cogreve play on? And how did the teams fair?
"gave" not "game" in the previous comment.
Mayfield 3 - Alverno 2
Mayfield was lucky to win this one. They gave up 2 unearned runs, but Alverno game them back and one more. Clancy had 9 K's and gave up 3 hits, 1BB.
tis the truth... it is going to be interesting to see how local travel teams develop over the next few years with the new cif coaching rules. who is going to start their own travel team? and who is going to try and make their hs players play on their team year round?
Not that "chkyrslf" needs anyone to explain on their behalf. But clarification is probably in order. In softball there are many flavors of "travel ball". The level that "chkyrslf" speaks of where higher CIF divisions tend to have at least a few "travel ball" players and the CIF D1 and D2 high schools have all "travel ball" players, The level that "chkyrslf" is refering to is a much different level of "travel ball" than refered to by "astonished". The "astonished" level of "travel ball" doesn't even remotely compare to the "travel ball" teams or players that make up the rosters of the higher CIF divisions. Those "travel ball" teams are the best 18Gold teams and players in the country and they play at the 4 main fields at the Huntington Beach Sports Complex at 18Gold tournaments. We have several of those elite level players from our area (Grant, Ferri, Gogreve, Edwards are the ones I can think of off hand) but they don't play on the area "travel ball" teams "astonished" is refering. Currently there is one such player on FSH, and it sounds from previous blog entries that there maybe one in the future on Mayfield. There are certainly no more than 1 or 2 other year round players on either of those 2 teams, but these others are cetainly not 18Gold players currently.
My statement is not meant to trivialize local summer teams, but the competitive differences between those local teams and the true 18Gold "travel ball" teams is night and day with no comparison.
The important thing is that there are local venues for kids to play year round ball and local high school teams certainly benefit so keep it up and thank you to the organizers of those local teams.
that makes sense...it is very difficult to be a great pitcher without a capable catcher
Hey, MS...
Sorry, Didn't see the game. Too busy watching Monrovia/SP game...What are your thoughts as to how/why La Salle scored their 4 runs? Looks like they all came in one inning? I hear that neither team hit the ball very well and La Salle only hit one ball out of the infield?. Is that accurate? Box score only had one error?
PS... Don't panic and keep hitting the submit button. Once is enough.
I know that Mayfield's catcher plays year round. She is a huge reason that Katie is doing so well. We played a couple of games early in the season without her and they didn't go so well. I don't think any of the other Mayfield players play year round.
I know that FSHA's catcher also plays year round, but I don't know about any of their other players.
i agree with you. i was guessing, that is why i said i may be wrong. obviously the fsh team has stepped it up behind ferri. i am pleasantly suprised to hear that mayfield has more travel players. what teams do they play for? there is definitely room for non travel players but it is the year rounders that lead the way. and if i quit blogging who would you have to get mad at?
For the record there are other players on both the Mayfield and FSHA teams who play travel ball. Perhaps if the experts spent less time blogging and more time actually following the sport they would be more aware of the true facts and be less inclined to write off the efforts of players who work to continuosly improve their games.
That is a big win for FSH, what a player!
Looks like you daughter is following in her footsteps, and she has an agent.
Monrovia 3 SP 1
Monrovia's pitcher had 1 earned run and SP's pitchers had 0.Monrovia has taken a leap from last year and their team swings the bat. Sp threw the ball around and had minimal production offensively. I would say they miss Castro.

Hey Area Fan,
Were all of Maranatha's runs today against La Salle earned or unearned?
Opps ... never mind.

Scores -
Mayfield 1 - Poly 0 - Clancy pitched a 1 hitter, giving up a hit with 1 out in the 7th, 12k's and drove in the only Mayfield run with a triple in the 4th inning.
FSHA 4 - Alemeny 3 - Ferri had a HR, double and single and beat the defending (4-years) Mission League champs.
LC 5 - San Marino 0 - O'Leary had a no-hitter going for most of the game, but I think San Marino did get a hit or some hits, not sure.
I should also say, and I am sure I am going to get ripped by someone for this, that FSH outside of Ferri, is similar in skill to Mayfield. The difference is a pitcher like Ferri and their schedule. Your daughter may be similar to that but unlike FSH your team plays very few quality teams. My guess is that your daughter is the only player on Mayfield that plays travel ball and my guess is that Ferri is the only player on FSH that plays travel ball, (I could be wrong about both). The higher divisions tend to have at least a few of travel players and the D1's and 2's have all travel players and more on their JV team than lower division players have on their varsity. And as it stands right now travel players are more seasoned and bring more to the table. There are non-travel players that are great, but they are few and far between.
Ready...attack!
I definitely can't argue with that - she is looking for an 18U Gold team right now. She was playing for the Strikeforce, but since they didn't classify as Gold has opted to look for another team.
Hopefully she will be hooked up with a team by the end of the HS season.
I hear ya, and I appreciate your honesty, but going to a school like Mayfield is going to keep that opinion very subjective. She can do herself some good with her offseason participation, but it is hard to argue for a pitcher on a team that plays few high level teams, and when you do you get spanked. But to me that also adds to the fact that you need more than a pitcher. That will probably be most evident when FSH gets into their league play...today
In my very biased opinion that Mayfield pitcher has a shot at being the best in the area next year. She pitched a great game against Sacred Heart on Monday and is among the leaders in the CIF SS in strikeouts.
That last one was from me to area fan.sorry.
Man, you make things up. I am only going by his response to your beef. You clearly said that you thought the player was walked and driven in. That clearly wasn't the case. (Unless you are still fighting that it was a walk and not a dropped third strike.)
I said I was the head of Ferri's fan club, because I was responding to those people who were questioning whether she was the best pitcher in the area. I have to say that there isn't much refuting that fact, and I am not related to her whatsoever. People thought that I was related to Parada last year when I said she was the best pitcher around. As a matter of fact I will jump ahead of the game and say that as long as she continues her offseason work, Lauren O'Leary from LC will be the best pitcher in our area next year, that is as long an amazing freshman doesn't emerge. Do you think I am related to her as well?
You had a point about PSN's stats, but then you didn't check maxpreps to confirm your suspicions and didn't have your facts right. Sorry, but you seem to be jumping to conclusions.
The funny thing is that you have seen Ferri pitch and you are still so jaded by your own biases that you are fighting the obvious.
Area Fan:
You did question Steve's book, because you claimed that he should have counted an unearned run as an earned run.
You are wrong, wrong, wrong!
Dear chkyrslf:
Aren't you the one who has stated you are the head of pitcher's fan club? So I see where you are coming from. How close are you related to "Steve"?
I think your alone on this one "area fan."
Dear Steve:
Why so touchy? No one was questioning your book. I was merely pointing out the error on the PSN staff in arriving at there Top Ten!
But, since you brought it up...It's the appearance of impropriety when the pitcher's Dad (and Mom and sister) is keeping the book. (Those are the other "two separate books" you were referring to, right?)
This has nothing to do with Maranantha nor all their good folk but merely comments from a softball fan. Enjoy the season. If you are so worried about what people think let someone else keep FSH's official book. Someone without a conflict of interest. You might even enjoy the season more? Good luck this week.
I normally try to stay out of the fray, but I will absolutely throw my support behind Steve. He has never slighted a kid one way or the other - he goes out of his way to be fair to anyone and everyone. In the Duarte tournament, he chased down the Plate Umpire to make sure he understood the pitch before the play as to whether it was a ball or strike - who else goes to that end?
Just one man's opinion.
In case anyone is interested the Pasadena Poly @ Mayfield game that was originally scheduled for today has been rescheduled to tomorrow (Thursday April 2).
I would also vouch for Steve's stats. After the Mayfield vs. Sacred Heart game he asked me to compare our scorebooks and they were identical except for 1 case where I got it wrong and he got it right.
I did not see the Sacred Heart vs. Maranatha game, but I would take Steve's stats and recollection of the game over anyone.
I'm kinda' embarrassed that I didn't check up on the "2 no-hit" stat that is referred to by the PSN staff in the top 10. I was actually thinking they thought FSH was no-hit by another team, because I didn't remember Ferri throwing two. I am really not earning my keep.
Don't worry, Steve, areafan means well...kinda.
By the way, maybe Steve can help a couple of teams out with their stats.
The coaching staff and players of TC really need to utilize their time off this week to decide if they are serious about competing in the Rio Hondo this season.
It’s hard to sit and watch games being “given away” for lack of excitement or enthusiasm. There is no denying that we may not have the most constant pitching in the league but there is no doubt that we are in possession of one, if not the best hitting lineups in the SGV.
From here on out the coaches and players need to take the field with a sense of urgency each and every game and not simply think that teams are going to be “afraid” to compete against us because they have already shown that is not a factor.
Quoting Mike Candrea, “Coaches and Players need to have short term memories in the game of softball, things happen to fast for us to dwell on what we can not change”.
Coaches, let’s stop worrying about calling in stats and players stopping looking for yours on max prep and start working on redeeming our give a ways and dedicate the rest of the season to out hustling, out working and above all out playing our future opponents.
Avid Fan
This is a the 3rd and last blog entry to the 2 previous blog entries I just sent.
"Area fan", I'm not quite sure what your motivation may be or why you'd feel the need to anonymously question in a public internet blog a couple of at bats in a relatively meaningless game almost a month ago. I assume you are an adult because I can't imagine a kid writing such stuff on a softball blog at 11 PM. Also, I personally know many of the very classy softball folks at Maranatha and I can assure you that upon checking your scorebook they will verify the accuracy of my game recollections as factually correct. If any of the Sacred Heart stats. are still of issue to you, and if what is inputted in Maxpreps doesn't answer your questions - Dave, Todd, Gordy, or Steve at Maranatha can direct you to how to get in touch with me directly. I'm anything but anonymous and I'll be happy to share with you whatever stats. info. you need. But I respectfully request that you don't rip Sacred Heart or Jess. You're certainly entitled to your personal opinion, but if your intent is to be the least bit malicious or malign facts to attack a particular school or kid, I feel very sorry for you. Also, aside from embarrassing yourself, your anonymity embarrasses a very fine school in Maranatha and the many very fine people that I have known for many years who make up the Maranatha community.
Also, I would never minimize the Maranatha win as anything but a clear-cut win over Sacred Heart. Also, Maranatha's #5, 4th inning single was not the least bit questionable. It was a clear-cut hit by any definition. You may describe it as a "ROPE" but I don't know what you define as a "ROPE". My recollection was that in that game there was only one hard hit ball between both teams, but it wasn't in the series of batters you are speaking about. How I saw this at bat by Maranatha's #5 was it was a count of 1 ball - 2 strikes and the Sacred Heart pitcher hung a 4th pitch change-up. It was a good enough change-up to fool most high school batters, but not good enough to fool a great player like Maranatha's #5, who looped a single over the Sacred Heart short stop. Regardless, it was a hit and properly scored that way. There was 1 runner (Maranatha's #7) on base but that runner got on base by a "dropped 3rd strike" on a 1 ball - 3 strike strikeout (not a "walk" as you stated). Yes, that runner (Maranatha's #7) scored from 3rd base after the left fielder bobbled the ball hit by Maranatha's #5 (I correctly scored an error on the left fielder, but whether you give the left fielder an error or not, it doesn't matter), by Maranatha's #7 initially reaching base by a "dropped 3rd strike" makes the run "unearned" by fact and definition. After the left fielder bobble, Maranatha's #5 went from 1st base to 2nd base on the throw from the left fielder to home, that defines the hit as a single and to 2nd base on the throw. The next 2 batters after Maranatha's #5 (#6 and #2) both struck out ending the inning with no other runs scored. Bottom line, it was correctly scored a single hit and correctly scored an unearned run. Earned or unearned run, Maranatha earned the win.
I'm not real incline to engage in this sort of discussion, and I'd be surprised if it is important to anyone other than Maranatha's so called "area fan". I was just told by a friend of "area fan's" concern and before he or she chooses to impugn the validity of the Sacred Heart stats. or the character of any Sacred Heart coach, player, or parent, I want set the record straight. I personally do the Sacred Heart stats. and load them to Maxpreps. I am the one person who is solely responsible for the Sacred Heart stats. I can assure you that I take great care in making sure that my stats. are as accurate as possible. After every game I reconcile my scorebook with at least 2 other separate scorebooks (and whenever possible I reconcile with an opposition scorebook). If you look at the Maxpreps stats. from the Sacred Heart - Maranatha game, since the day after that game it has been indicated as a "2-hitter", not a "no-hitter". Same with the first La Salle game, it was a 2-hitter that resulted in a 3 to 2 loss. The second La Salle game was a 4-hitter, but it resulted in a 1 to 0 win for Sacred Heart. Also, I e-mail very complete box scores and summary game stats. to the "score e-mail hotline" at the Pasadena Star News after every game. These 2 games were never reported to anyone as no-hitters. Plain and simple, the Pasadena Star News made a typo in their blog yesterday in indicating "no-hitter" rather than "2-hitter".
What does "both losses by no-hitters" suppose to mean for FSH? They lost to LaSalle and had 6 hits... They lost to Maranatha and had 4 hits? I saw a girl from Maranatha (#5) ROPE a base hit to left field, driving in a runner who had walked but FSH's stats state that Marantha didn't have any earned runs?? What's up with that?
This is a tough year to read. Splitting a doubleheader with someone is tough to take a #1 spot away from LaSalle and move them two spots. The SP thing is funny too. They beat Maranantha and TC and the two losses in Savannah were against 6th and 7th ranked DIV teams who were CIF semi's last year. But Maranantha and TC are 3&4 and SP is 8th and TC lost to Monrovia who is 10th. We'll see how that turns out. SP does give up a lot of runs, but their offense is explosive. Is it true that they lost Amanda Castro? and if so, how long will she be out?
I agree with FSH being up there. Jessica Ferri is that good, but you have to question a team that gets no hit twice. I don't have a problem with LC being in the top two, but they still have a lot prove. And from what I understand about how they played today, I don't think they would expect to move up.LaSalle did win the head to head, as well.
I will be honest with you I do not know much about Keppel, but they are beating people like 21-0, sometime that sends a flag up about their schedule. I will try and get out to see them and see if they are just playing terrible competition or if they are for real.
Now the comedy comes with Arcadia where the teams that they have beaten have a total record 6-13, heck for that matter the teams that they have lost too have a total record of 17-25 and none of these team are typically very good teams. And, the last team that they play before the break is even worse and they are 3-4. Hey man if its really selling you papers, then you might as well.
Ramona Convent is doing well but they wouldn't compete with the majority of these teams, but they deserve to be on the list. Probably should not be in front of Monrovia, because they would probably get smoked by them.
Here let me fix it for you (you should really consult with me first):
1. LaSalle
2. LaCanada
3. FSH
4. SP
5. Maranantha
6. TC
7. Keppel
8. Monrovia
9. Arcadia
10. Ramona Convent
hey ms why are you hating on arcadia?
hey ms why are you hating on arcadia?
Congratulations to LC and to KC, Coach Chuck and Meredith. Those kids put in a tremendous amount of hard work and they have definitely earned respect.
As far as the 12 - 0 loss goes, those things happen. It was not a league game and they were trying some things out - O'Leary didn't start and didn't give up the 12 runs.
They will win the Rio Hondo league because they are a quality team with a good coaching staff.
The FSHA team also deserves a lot of respect. They will have a tremendous challenge against Alemeny later this week, but they are really coming together. It also doesn't hurt to have the best pitcher in the area.
I think the Ramona Convent team will move up also, they have some real talent on that team.
Are you kidding me???
How does La Canada get a #1 ranking with not only 2 losses, but they got slaughtered and lost 12 to 0 just the other day to a .500 team (I love how they don't report their bad loss). They were convincing beat by La Salle, they almost lost today to a struggling Temple City team, and they almost blew an early lead to South Pas?
Who's going to be #1 next week??? ... Arcadia???
Who's kidding who here? O'Leary didn't give up 10 hits. There were four errors in the first inning alone and your stats on Maxpreps shows that NO ONE reached on error. Have you no shame? tch tch tch.
