La Canada should have beaten La Salle. Their starting pitcher lauren o'leary played on a sprained ankle and wrist. They also didnt have their number 4 batter and second baseman Amanda Ulf due to a concussion. Pitcher Lauren Cox was out from a groin issue aswell.I think they should be ranked #1

Lets go back to the maxpreps audit I did. I will copy it and put it out there again.
What do you think about that?

Poly- no stats
Monrovia -Left out stats for first two losses (nice)
Maranantha - good batting stats, no fielding stats
Flintridge Sacred Heart - Most games only have stats for Jessica Ferri
Arcadia - need to update scores and stats
Alverno - no stats
Westridge - no stats
Keppel - no stats
La Canada - good stats
South Pasadena - good stats
Alhambra - good stats
San Marino - good stats
Mayfield - good stats
LaSalle - good stats
TC - good stats

The good @ blogs: information fast from your community.
The bad @ blogs: information might not be accurate. The recent political blogs are a larger example.

Concerning the Arroyo Tournament:
*There were only 3 games Saturday night, 2 JV, 1 Varsity
*The Varsity Championship game was moved to a field with better lights
*JV (Arroyo vs La Serna) played on the original field.

*TC owes La Serna a game. Maybe the 3rd place trophy is enough?

My apologies.

miguel,

Can you please remove my 3:42 and following posts? I would really appreciate it.

Not trying to cause anyone trouble. Couldn't say for sure who played when.
How about 24 teams in two brackets so you can play 5 games and they had enough warning to play players that had not played two games already.

I meant LaSerna not Cantwell.

chkyrslf said:

Too bad, Cantwell Sacred Heart would have been a good matchup for TC. Why did they forfeit?

That is also a violation of a CIF Bylaws (2506.2 & 2516) which could cause Arroyo major problems. You are only allowed to play 4 games in a tournament whether it is for a consolation game or not and you are only allowed to play two games in a day. If Arroyo played 3 games on Saturday, that means that they played 5 in the tournament as well as more than two in a day. That could really be a problem considering it was their tournament.

Bishop Amat beat Cantwell Sacred Heart in the championship game. BA looked impressive as compared to their earlier game against Arroyo but they were clearly the best team in the tournament. Cantwell's program has improved and they had a good run in the tournament. Their come from behind 6-5 extra inning semi-finals win v. La Serna was fun to watch. Congratulations to all teams for a good day of high school softball.

Arroyo took TC's game with La Serna so they get their games. Good for Arroyo! They get plenty of experience out of this Tournament playing three games on Saturday.

Ok, while digging I did an audit of maxpreps stats (some may be inflated, but I am just seeing who is updated and who isn't.). Thats right, woke up too early on a Sunday morning...

Poly- no stats
Monrovia -Left out stats for first two losses (nice)
Maranantha - no fielding stats
TC - needs to fill in last two games (they will)
Flintridge Sacred Heart - Most games only have stats for Jessica Ferri
Arcadia - need to update scores and stats
Alverno - no stats
Westridge - no stats
Keppel - no stats
La Canada - good stats
South Pasadena - good stats
Alhambra - good stats
San Marino - good stats
Mayfield - good stats
LaSalle - good stats

PS - isn't that kind of bad for TC to bail on the last game of a tournament, doesn't that cost the other team a non-league game (and you only get so many)?

Tough Call said:

TC had a schedule conflict for the 7pm game and did not play.
Bishop Amat looked very good bringing a complete team (or two). Their speed on the bases eliminates routine plays anywhere. And they hit pretty good too.

Ok from what I can see, TC lost to Bishop Amat 7-3, and I think that they were to play Cantwell Sacred Heart at 7:00pm but I can't find that score.

How did TC do against Bishop Amat?
