Baseball: Get ready, the Lancers are coming!

| | Comments (17) |

Above: Bishop Amat's Paul Paez led the Lancers to an impressive, 1-0, win over St. Paul on Tuesday.

The Bishop Amat-La Salle baseball game was moved up from yesterday to today at La Salle, 3:15 p.m. The Lancers are coming off an impressive win over St. Paul earlier this week. Paul Perez was impressive in that outing, helping Bishop Amat (7-3, 2-0) improve its winning streak to five. This is a big game for the Lancers (7-4, 2-1). Ernie Martin is batting .406 to lead La Salle. Watch out for Bishop Amat's Jay Anderson. He's almost batting .600.

And your opinion of which team is best is definitely suspect as you thought Spas was going to be good this year.

And Spas didn't hit the ball because Sr. Pitcher Garrett Simpson wouldn't let them!

Congrats to Mr. Simpson for another Complete Game Win and Kudos for No Walks!

Wow, a 6 run blown call? LOL The great thing about your posts is that you always find a way to work in some kind of excuse for why South Pasadena did not win. Maybe the team is just not that good.

Saw the SP Monrovia game yesterday. After seeing all three RHL contenters, I'd say that LC is the best team in the RHL. Monrovia has dropped off significantly from last year, not nearly the swagger of previous seasons, and TC seems young to me with not much depth. Not saying much for Monrovia beating SP 6-1. SP got completely hosed on an obvious blown call by the homeplate ump early in game, but that does not make excuses for SP just not hitting the ball. no hits, no runs.

Looks like a 3 team race in the Rio Hondo league since San Marino is under achieving. LC, TC and Monrovia will battle giving the edge to the tougher Monrovia team. What's up with the starting pitcher from South Pas losing his poise and not being able to back it up against Monrovia? Players need to shut up and just play. Kudos to Lasalle losing one run games to St.Paul and Amat(moral victories). Will Arcadia win their tourny this week? Their only challenge will be in the championship where they will have Bryce pitching.......Pasadena is just a team that battles and enjoyed the press, but knows they have a long season ahead before they are a playoff team.......Good luck to everyone this week........

SGV Arsenal alum Eddie McKiernen was called by the Anaheim Angels to pitch this weekend for the Major League team. Eddie is in only his second year of pro ball out of Monrovia HS. Eddie participated in big league camp and performed well before going to minor league camp. Eddie will pitch in Rancho Cucamonga Class A this year. Eddie will be the first Arsenal player to put on a major league uniform and step on a big league diamond. Hey, it only for the weekend but what a thrill for the kid. Congratulations to him. I know his father is one proud guy!

"Northview tournament begins Saturday

South Pasadena: 20/1 because half of their runs came against Blair

Pasadena: 25/1 because they beat Crescenta Valley and Western Christian by the same score"

tcchamps,
I'm pretty sure Apache Boy likes the Lancers' chances as well. Too bad L$ doesn't get Paez today- boat race anyhow.

I got my money on the Lancers.

Amat will roll! Predicting a nice little shut-out of the Lancers (LS). The bat's need to heat up if they (LS) want to compete in this tough league. Good luck gents!
