Los Angeles Unified officials are demanding answers after "Bruno" star Sacha Baron Cohen and the Birmingham High football team appeared in provocative poses shot on campus for a racy GQ magazine photo spread.

The photos, which appear on the GQ Web site, show Cohen in a skimpy red swimsuit and athletic cup, seemingly working out with the student athletes. In one shot, the scantily clad star of the irreverent comedy is posed atop an athlete who is doing a push-up.

Honestly, arguing about this sh*t? LOL.

I would love to have posed with bruno, and what harm does it do the district anyways? Not like a thousand parents will suddenly read gentlemens quarterly and be outraged about the hillarious photos.

I can't believe that I agree with something "chky" posted, but honestly folks, this really isn't worth getting so upset about. Sacha Cohen is hilarious, edgy and provacative in his approach to comedy. The kids who were in this photoshoot will have fun being part of comedic history. No harm done.

When I was in high school, National Lampoon's "Animal House" was filmed in my hometown, and you can only imagine the outrage of some townspeople re: the antics that went along with filming that 'classic'. I knew kids who were extras in that film, and its one of their funniest memories to share and laugh about even today.

Let's not take ourselves too seriously now...

Actually the live interview aspect at MVN is one thing that PSN should consider.

It develops repoire with the local coaches/ AD's and gives us fans an up close look at coaches and players.
No worry of a misquote - it comes from the source. At times it is a little cheesy and hometown, but that is - what it is. The hosts know area sports, including histories.

It is a feature that requires time, work and energy by staff writers and support crews. Because of that it shows the paper's commitment. Like I said, PSN should go there... Miguel would excel in that format.

Not so much hating. I like the PSN and Tribune over the MVN. The MVN website looks bushleague. If you don't like my comments stay over there.

Why so bitter? said:

Huh?

Why you hating on the MVN? At least they are out in force reporting on passing league games and doing in house interviews. I'm sure MM and the PSN will get it going very soon. If you love watching and reading about the happenings this summer, right now the MVN is one place to get your fill on, just a suggestion......

I'd like to see more news than fluff and stupidity. And I'd rather see it here. The mid valley news is trash.

Goldenarm said:

Fred has a top list of football returnees out and more. MVN is all over it as someone mentioned.

Miguel - the angry horde is assembling, we need fuel!
What is in the works?

I've been hearing the dreaded "I" word
Ineligible.

I think the fact that Sasha Cohen's movies and TV shows are some of the funniest most popular movies in recent history for both adults and, believe it or not, high school students, should cue the stuffy people to relax a little and let the players have fun and be part of history. No matter what the stuffy ones do, these high school players get it and will remember being a part of it for the rest of their lives. I guarantee you that none of the players had a problem with it, and I hear no grumblings from the parents. It is friekin' hilarious.

Someone who knows said:

This seem a bit inappropriate for a HS Sports feature.

King said:

Hilarious!!! If you haven't seen the rest of these photos check them out! No kids were hurt, so this shouldn't be much of an issue. Its all a promo for his new movie that is coming out, relax. I agree with Deacon this should be an issue in the "Entertainment" section, lets get some real football talk in here. Summer ball has kicked off already!

Whats the big? said:

Why are we surprised by this photo? This is what our country has come down too. Instead of showing video honoring a nationally recognized high school football coach that was laid to rest yesterday, we get Bruno, go figure. Hopefully smarter heads (no pun intended) will prevail and this photo/topic will be removed asap. Wouldn’t if have been cooler to see photos of this weekends Bonita tournament where local teams participated on Friday and Saturday? Guess that would be asking way too much…..If you guys want to check out the tournament go to the mid valley website, there are some good shots on there as well as recent passing league games.

Apache Joe,

I agree with you.

JFMatador said:

He actually looks relatively short, for being 6'5

Apache Joe said:

If Birmingham got paid for this, who cares? It benefits the school and the kids are doing nothing wrong but throwing their hands up? What's the big deal. This shouldn't even be an issue.

Miguel,

I vote for removal of this "story" from the PREP section of PSN. Keep it in the "entertainment" section where it belongs!

Sacha,

Your 15 minutes have expired!

Goldenarm said:

Maybe PSN gets a little bite of the advertising pie too.

Dude, c'mon. That's not even cool to post that picture!
