So many petty things gentleman! Do we alll think that the West staff did not want any players from Pasadena! I mean i do not know much about the Bulldogs, but i know enough to know that there are some athletes over on that side of town! In regards to the St. Paul kids, yes there is a connection with the staff, however, if you look at last years roster of the HOF Game you will see a young man by the name of Krattenmaker from St. Paul who played on the West! The previous year a young man from St. Paul played on the East! I do not know the lines that are drawn, nor do i think the West staff knows the boundaries; but in order to make light of the situation, this might be the classic case of gerrymandering, in which the staff is deliberately rearranging the boundaries in order to give the West the advantage!

In all honesty though, i think the only disappointing thing is the fact that no one from TC, Arcadia, nor Pasadena will be represented! I know the kids from TC and Arcadia turned down the offer for whatever the reason, and i'm sure Pasadena does not have anyone on the team because they were in transition with their new coach. In saying that, i just realized that there is no one from Montebello represented either!

Truth, There are a lot of St. Paul kids on the roster because the DC at Rosemead used to coach at St Paul and Jimenez from St Paul is now on staff at Rosemead. Let me ask you this??? Why is St.Paul on the "West" side, when they are "East" of the 605 freeway (the cut off for this all-star game)???

Goldenarm said:

with those listed, the West should have one helluva O line.

I went to the NV/Paraclete game and Mitch Mullalhy from NV was a swarming angry beast on defense.

Will Cameron Deen really be there?

Too bad D Riley and Muema were not in opposing backfields...the Trib guru says Muema is better...
what a treat for the spectators to see both go at it

Truth said:

Why is there so...many St. Paul players in the West's squad??? Dont they have their own all-star game (605)???

I think that Tra will be going to PCC as a linebacker and the Rosemead kicker will be attending Mt. Sac as the starting kicker. Good luck west and make it two in a row.

Is Sumler going to play anywhere next year? Has he chose a school either JC of university?

Goldenarm said:

incorrect

this is why i asked MM to contact the TC AD for additional info....I agree, could be a slew of different reasons
some guys just plain don't want to play

West said:

The west looks like it has a good team but i hear that the east is still the favorite to win the west does have some speed with dunlap power with tre and if im not mistaken doesnt fernando play DE

Gentleman,

I've said before that i have a friend that once coached the game! The coaches are suppose to put together a forty man roster,or something similar to that number. Then they are encouraged to ask more players to be put on reserve! Every coach is in the area is in charge of nominating their players, then as someone had mentioned the coach can choose up to three from a squad. In saying that, i have noticed that in years past the staff that is coaching generally takes one or more from their team, or one or more from their league! According to my friend, and i understand this is all second hand information, the problem lies with the area coaches and the players themselves not the coaches actually coaching the game! Either coaches don't fax the player nomination forms in time, the contact info in incorrect, or the players themselves weed themselves out by not showing up or committing and then de-committing! I understand that this was the case with the TC young man Ouelette! He committed then de-committed. In essence, he actually screwed over some other seniors that would of played! I'm not sure about the Arcadia kids, but i do know that i have not seen one! i can guarantee you that they were contacted, because the last thing my friend stated that the director is a hard ass on making sure every school is represented! This is because people who have no idea think that there is school was blown off!

It's a shame about Golper. Perhaps the game should be played earlier then in the future. This guy's been talked about for how many years and can't play? Didn't seem to be a problem in previous years getting the best players.

SGVFootballFan said:

It is suprising to see no TC kids on the roster. Especially since White is the HC and I believe he will be an assistant coach for the game.

Before everyone starts hating on Koffler and his staff let's remember, just because certain kid's aren't on the team doesn't mean they weren't invited. The coaches ask coaches from the schools to send them names of kids who they think should be invited. The the coaching staffs from each side contact the kids and see if they are available to play. It doesn't alway work out for the kids schedule to play.

Goldenarm said:

Miquel,

por favor

if you have time - could you contact the TC AD and ask if TC players were invited and declined, or WHY none of the 08 standouts are on the roster. Several deserve to be.

Apache Joe said:

Nick La Croix was invited to play, but he just recently tore his ACL (from Arcadia). Brian Rambeau was invited and was going to play but has family complications and cannot play. Shame because they were absolute studs this year.

Dad of 3 said:

Oops!!! Brandon Sermons , not Rodney. Rodney probably wished he could have gone to UCLA but he went to the University of Second Choice instead.

Dad of 3 said:

Golper and the rest of the '09 UCLA guys check into their dorms June 21 and start summer school the next day. This includes Sheldon Price and Isaiah Bowens from Bishop Amat and Rodney Sermons from Diamond Ranch

The Stang Fan said:

What the,

It was mentioned before that Golper wouldn't be allowed to play in the game because he must report to UCLA in a week or two. WHile many of the best players from the WSGV aren't playing, neither are many from the ESGV.

What The? said:

Wasn't one of the best recruits in the SGV from Arcadia? And he's not on the all-star team? Did Golper quit football? If not this is a crime.

Maybe I'm missing something here but why is there not one player from TC on the west's roster? Bruno-Lopez? Josh Ollette? Morgan Hatch? Nick Conora? Who the hell picks these rosters anyway?
