    Miguel –

Is there ANYTHING you guys can do about these spammers? At least the last 10 comments have been spammers; they are even getting more creative using a Cyrillic alphabet.

I am (and I am sure I speak for others) reaching the point where I do not even want to go on this blog anymore, or look at it. The spammers are winning.

Also, in the “From the Huddle” blog – it is totally focused on the East SGV – nothing from the West SGV. I’d like to talk some football, but I am afraid to go on it, as some Amat fan will probably blast me/us saying East SGV football is a minor league.

A couple of things to think about.

I do not know about the bottom feeders, but here are my picks.

Keppel by 2 at the buzzer.
Pasadena by 8. Game will not be as close as the score.
Centenial squeeks by LC – another great coaching job by Hofman, but Centenial too much.
Crespi by 10 – La Salle must shoot the lights out to keep it close.
Poly by 4 over Buckley – Hall too good of a coach to lose at home.

Buckley will not be able to handle Poly. 20+…..Are you sure you are a basketball fan?

  • Bob Anon

I am an LC alum, but Compton Centennial is one of the best teams in the state. I see them winning easily, but I hope I am wrong.

  • bball fan

My mistake. I meant to put 10+ for Buckley over Poly. But I’m sure they will win… And hey, I feel if LC is on they could be one of the best in division 3a. I’m picking them because of the coach they have, the defense they can play and the great shooters. I feel they will be on tonight… and Pasadena is too much for Mira Costa. Definitely a 15+ win… Keppel is too good and too discipline to be pushed that close… La Salle will have to shoot the light out and play some lock up D to keep it close.

    Poly 48 Buckley 38

    bball fan,

You hit the point spread on the head, unfortunately you picked the wrong team!!

    Final from Pasadena:

    Poly (48) Buckley (38)

I have a big upset, just got back from alemany and they pulled out a huge win over Oaks Christian 81- 75, Oaks needs a knew coach, absolutely NO defense, alemany was penetrating at will. Holiday for Oaks is the best player in that division hands down, too bad Oaks can’t find a coach who can coach.

Alemany will definitely go to the Finals, they play the winner of Paraclete – Woodcrest Christian, didn’t Marshall beat those teams last year, can’t be that good.

    Congrats, Alemany

    La Salle lost by 10.

    La Canada lost by 13

I am not surprised that Poly won,I have beeen hearing how good Buckley is throughout the Valley and I have seen them play, they do have better talent than Poly, but coaching is suspect.Brad for Poly is a Damm good coach and he can change a game and set tempo with his team chemistry.

Buckely probably didn’t put any pressure on Poly and therefore Poly was able to set tempo, this plays right into poly’s game plan.

Congrats Poly you have some great kids on your team.

Congrats to Centennial, won at LC today, great season for the Spartans.

  • pasadena

    did phs win?

    Basketball junkie,

    Final from Pasadena:

    Poly 48 Buckley 38

Coach Brad Hall: 0- points, 0-rebounds, 0- assists, 0-minutes played

All the talent in the world means nothing if you can’t get the “W”. Great job Poly and great job Coach Hall.

  • Basketball Junkie

    To Anouymous,

If you think Coaching doesn’t make a difference especially in the playoffs I don’t think you understand Basketball. Hall may not have played a single minute or scored but I guarantee he had s say so on the outcome of the game.Coaches are part of the game, I don’t know what your point was by him not scoring or playing, but it doesn’t matter because everybody knows Coaching makes a difference in Basketball.

Congrats Pasadena Poly. I am glad you guys proved me wrong. They should give LV Lutheran a run for there money of an upset. Great job. good luck in the next round… Since so many teams from SGV have made it to the semifinals, I’m having a hard time deciding which game to go to. Any suggestions?

hey miguel, why does the star news not give renaissance any coverage? they are the number 1 seed in their division and doing well in the playoffs. not 1 playoff article on them?

  • Anonymous

My point is…. as a coach your job is to manage the game. Your players still have to play.

  • Nice blog here! Also your website loads up fast! What host are you using? I wish my website loaded up as fast as yours lol
