Girls Basketball: A growing experience for Keppel

| | Comments (18) |

Keppel girls basketball coach Ib Belou is not making excuses. But it's hard not to look past the Aztecs' lineup, which includes two freshman who have started in the last three games. All together, Keppel has four freshman, a sophomore, four juniors and four seniors. Nine of those players, however, never had played varsity prior to this season. By contrast, Alhambra has eight seniors and Schurr has seven.

"It's taken them a little longer to get their feet wet and understand this is the main stage," Belou said. "We stopped using the 'We're a young team, still learning' excuse right before league started. The freshman really had to grow up, and I'm pleased with the maturity of how much our team has grown. Our youngsters have really started to turn the corner, which is nice."

Alyson Lok is a bright spot for the Aztecs. The freshman guard averages 15.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game.

Keppel's loss to Alhambra, which snapped an 87-game league winning streak, was followed by another loss to Schurr.

"That was a tough week for us," Belou said. "Two road games, back-to-back against two of the toughest teams in league. I believe that definitely had something to do with it."

Keppel still has a shot at clinching a share of the league title, but they'll need some help. The Aztecs need to beat San Gabriel today and hope Bell Gardens upsets Alhambra. That would setup a showdown on Friday when Keppel hosts rival Alhambra.

"It's definitely a goal, but it's out of our hands," Belou said. "We need a little help, but all we can do is focus on San Gabriel and have two good practices and be ready for them Friday."

What a release to notice a piece of paper that may perhaps be present ultimately in truth meaning reading! I’ve been in search of all-around regarding this topic but men and women now put rubbish posts, or brief empty posts. I contain observed a couple vids on youtube but it’s now the same as reading a good article.

Love this blog, keep up the good writing.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

This is the first blog I read on my new Iphone. I'm bookmarking for nostalga.

That’s interesting that colder places have higher obesity rates. I live in Seattle and I do notice quite a large number of overweight people.

Thanks for a great post, I never thought of it like that before.

Keep up the great articles. I really like reading what you have to say. Thanks.
