Arcadia wins 1-0 on an unearned run in the first
I dont know what game you were watching but that was an earned run in the first tom hit a double then Tuck grounded to the first baseman, that was back and wasnt throwing to home. its an earned run.
Hey Buddy- I was at the game as well, run was scored on error at first base. This isn’t little league scoring…
What a win! 1-0 Arcadia, the Apaches should be proud that they got one unearned run off Pasadena HA! Let me get you a box of Kleenex, Mr. Anonymous. Lemas has critics? So does Parisi and every other coach in the SGV. Is the nature of the game – wake up. Must be nice to be privy to Lemas’ material especially with a “1-0” win against Pasadena.
At the end of the day…:
A win is a win. Some teams have bad games and win 1-0, and sometimes teams play amazing and win 10-0. Arcadia got the job done. Whatever school you are from, I am sure Arcadia would love to play you guys and we’ll see how much you are going to criticize Arcadia. Seems like every blogger hates on Arcadia but they represent the area well year after year. Congrats on your success and keep it going.
I’m getting sick and tired of posters bashing coaches and parents. Pretty soon I’m going to disable the comments section if this nonsense continues. I’ve done it with a previous Arcadia thread. Don’t make me do it again.
What are you talking about? Jon Tom hit a double to lead off the inning. Then he reached 3rd on a passed ball. The next hitter got out. That means there is 1 out with a runner on 3rd. The hitter hit a ground ball to the 1st baseman (who was playing back) and he made an error. The run then came in to score. That is an earned run. Learn the game.
I agree with the core of your point about slamming coaches is out line given this is a high school blog, and a line has to be drawn somewhere, but there’s something fishy about you deleting certain posts.
Blogs about high athletics can become a touchy subject real quick, but if a coach comes on this blog (i.e. the Pasadena coach’s post two days ago – was that him, or was someone impersonating him?) and makes specific remarks about a game and the conduct of other coaches, then remarks and comments in response to that post are completely fair game.
If it was not him, then you have a point. But if that was him, people’s reputations precede them, and who is he to talk anything about etiquette or conduct given his very public past.
To a certain extent, high school coaches are public figures. If a coach makes a decision to come on this blog, you as a writer shouldn’t protect that coach.
You recently posted something about thanking your readers for this blog achieving a certain comment total. You know if you create posts about certain teams and people involved, you’re going to get a lot of interest. I would assume the number of comments on this blog is somehow a metric of your success as a writer. But you can’t have it both ways. If this is truly a public forum, then you have to take the good with the bad. If a coach chooses to come on this blog and voice his opinion, then a natural question exists, why did you delete that post, because others responded negatively?
If you are going to lecture your readers, consider placing a disclaimer before every topic you post about the parameters of what can and cannot be said. Then you have every leg to stand on. This is the very nature of what blogs are. This blog is under the “Opinions” tab for a reason.
If that was him, it leads your readers to believe you actively show your biases towards certain coaches and makes people think you protect certain people. It’s understandable that your business is based on the relationships you have with coaches, but it undermines the credibility of this blog.
Thank you, Mr. Melendez. It was time for you to finally step up to the plate.
Good game overall. Its a high school game pitting a well established baseball program against a up and coming program. Pasadena has worked hard to achive what they have accomplished. Arcadia is a tremendous program and we are lucky to play them. We always want to play the best.
We host Arcadia next week.
No doudt about it it will be a good game.

Very well said sir or ma’am….very well said…
Probably the best posting I’ve seen in this blog….I may get removed for supporting your post…but it’s worth it.
There’s another posting here I wanna ask about, but why waste the energy….oh and it’s another anonymous posting…
No matter where they play or what uniforms they wear Robert Lain will still be the best player on the field!
Robert Lain would be lucky to be the 4th best baseball player on the field, that is if Arcadia is on the same field. Jonathan Larson, Garret Tuck, and Jonathan Tom are all better than Robert Lain. There are more Arcadia players that would give Lain a run for his money too, i.e Eric Trask, and Haram Park. Don’t try to compare Pasadena’s stars to Arcadia’s stars. It’s pointless.
Why woould you only compare Lain to the hitters for Arcadia;? Instead, put pitcher to pitcher. The bottom line is KJ Edson for ARCADIA is head and shoulders above Lain. The two pitchers aren’t even in the same league. If Arcadia pitched Edson during that ganme the Apaches would have been enjoying dinner and a movie while Pasadena was still driving home. Pasadena was lucky that Edson pitched the Burbank game that week.
You have yo be kidding-
I was thinking hitting wise. But your right. KJ is 2x the pitch Lain is. And now that Tuck has found his stride, so id Tuck. This Arcadia 1,2 is very good. Nothing to be compared with Pasadena. Arcadia is for real.
Thanks for a great post, I never thought of it like that before.

What will David Vampley, a 23 year old maths graduate do next? is he going to take over the usa?
David Vamplew when asked if he uses training websites: “video’s like that i don’t really tend to spend much time on anymore, although I did in the past. I think that they tend to get less useful the more you move up in stakes. I do spend some time on poker predator, they are certainly different fromt he rest mainly due to their stipulations on a certainly caliber of player, this instantly improves the level of conversation you are having with other pro’s.”
Young David Vamplew informs us that personal downs in life must not affect the life of a professional poker player
