What a release to discover a page that could be real finally in actuality worth reading! I’ve been in search of all-around on the subject of this matter but men and women now put rubbish posts, or short empty article. I contain observed a couple vids on youtube but it’s now the equal as reading a good post.

Did everyone take a look at the Scotsmans article today that top dentists in Scotland are working for a staggering £120 k per annum?? I have to investigate that line of work, clearly they're doing something right! one more thing, I had to feel sorry for the inferior associate dentists - they earn just £60-70k!
I do not typically comment on blogs such as this but in this instance and in keeping with the comments above I would take this opportunity to say how much I enjoyed your post. Really informative and well written - thanks for sharing it with us!
Interesting article and one which should be more widely known about in my view. Your level of detail is good and the clarity of writing is excellent. I have bookmarked it for you so that others will be able to see what you have to say.
Good website.
Amused reader, once again someone uses the "he doesn't face anyone in HS" bit. Take a look outside of HS and he has faced some the best players in the country. By the way, Paez and Covey are friends and could careless who anyone thinks is better. They have played together since their freshman year. On their travel team their staff goes like this 1. Dylan Covey(92-97) 2. Aaron Sanchez(92-96) and 3. Paul Paez(87-91) The first two will go first round.
Amused:
The name fits you! Covey is a fastball guy and pitched against teams with 10 players? Read about him or watch him play then talk. His best pitch is a curveball which scouts say is ready to be a dominate pitch at the professional level right now. Paez and Covey play on the same travel team and Covey is hands down the #1. Covey is projected to be a top 10 pick, how do you even compare the two? Paez is a phenomenal pitcher but don't bash Covey when you have no idea. Like everyone has said before this, he is in a class of his own. Don't even try to compare him to anyone at the local high school level, it doesn't work. Maybe compare him to the top 3 or 4 pitchers in the nation and you can have an argument, but locally just stop because you sound like an idiot.
If we're talking Star-News readership, Covey is the man. He doesn't pitch against the best competition but he's talented. If we're talking Tribune area too, there's no way you can put Covey over Paez. Covey is a fastball guy who gets guys from schools with 10 students to chase. Paez has beaten the best and is a pitcher not just a guy with a great fastball.
BFF can't really call out just those 2 Poly boys. There is a lot of strong baseball players from South Pas who do not go to South Pas. It seems they would be a powerhouse if the top talent stayed in city and played for South Pas...too bad they don't.
Big Fat Fan- This is true, but Poly is not only better than SP in academics, they're arguably better than SP in baseball as well. Poly has defeated SP in baseball the past 8 years. This way they got to play as Freshmen and develop both as students and athletes... That seems to me to be the reason why they chose to make the switch. But you'd have to ask them yourself for the definite answer.
Chckyourself,
I was at the Arcadia-LC game in Duarte and if we never see a Riser pitcher again, it will be too soon. I'd love to see the Boys hit that. Too funny.
Poly dad: yeah, too bad those two south pas boys did not stay in SP to go to high school.
I meant pro scouts, thanks for the stat info and to Anon. I gave up waiting for info on other sports from Mig. Try reading the outlook, I find the track, soccer and swim scores and info there.
Okay and you think Arcadia isn't trying to rebulid this year. They lost almost all there players from last year. But Arcadia is still a good enough program and team to win games with what they have. So stop making excuses about there rebuilding.
You mean a softball question, right? Michelle Floyd the freshman pitcher can also put in her bid for top pitcher in the area. She, along with the two from La Canada, are all certainly going to be recruited D1. I believe they already are.
Your right next time I will. I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong. Saldate to me, is still one of the best in the area. Covey is the man, 61 K's..
Bobby Mcgee - dont u mean a REBUILDING san dimas team, as their chonkage has indicated so far this season? hrrm? hrrem?? defending cif champions WHAT? IRRELEVANT! I-R-R-E-L-E-V-A-N-T-!
Miguel why do you have a Football related picture for a baseball related question?
I think the best pitcher in the area is the combination of Lauren O'Leary and Lauren Cox for La Canada. They would make the boys look silly trying to hit their rise balls, just like they do to most of the girls.
Love the ball game, but Sure wish you all gave soccer this much attention so that great athletes from all sports got some recognition. Seems like Football, basketball and baseball are all you care to mention.
Sam 32 maybe check the stats before you blog next time.
According to the stats Saldate has a slightly lower ERA (0.78-1.04) whereas Murphree has More Strikeouts (42-29) and more wins (6-4)
Murphree has 2 Complete game shutouts against PasPoly and SoPas.
Saldate has 1 Complete game shutout against San Gabriel who is 0-9 on the season.
Murphree has 16 hits 11 singles, 3 doubles, 2 HR's with 15 RBI's
Saldate has 17 hits 12 singles, 4 doubles, 1 HR and
10 RBI's
So as you can see the stats alone prove you wrong!
Dylan Covey is the top Pitcher in California and top three or so nationally. We know we will the arguement that Maranatha doesn't play in as strong a league and other nonsense. He has faced some of countries best hitters outside of HS. The scary part he is not throwing his best fastball which is a two seamer because his catcher has trouble with it. If we are talking the entire SGV here is my list for the class of 2010. The other guys mention where do some of think they might end up? WHo is looking at them?
1. Dylan Covey Maranatha/USD
2. Paul Paez Bishop Amat/USD
3. Adam Plutko Glendora/UCLA
4. Eddie Pedroza Northview
5. Ethan Bramshrieber St. Francis/Northwesterm
6. AJ Berglund St. Francis/UCSB
. Let's be real and mention guys being recruited by D1 colleges. I would say the majority of talent comes out of the East SGV.
HUH-
On the question of who is being scouted in the area, Jordan Kutzer for Pasadena Poly has had scouts at his first few starts. USC, UCLA, Berkeley, UC Irvine, and Fullerton have all come to see him play and have clocked him from 86-91. Also, Matt Saeta from Poly also had a great start against Monrovia giving up no earned runs over 5 innings. After seeing Rasmussen, Feess and Talt go on to D1 schools, I thought that I'd seen the last of good Poly pitchers, but don't forget about Jordan Kutzer and Matt Saeta. Look for these two TALL boys to lead Poly this year. They may not be #1 in the area yet, but they have the potential.
Stats are are merely INDICATORS of how well or poorly a Team or Player are playing, that being said...
Stats for Area Pitching:
Covey- ERA-0.22/K's-61/Wins-2/BA-.312 Team can't finish when he comes off the mound.
Calver- ERA-0.72/K's-29/Wins-4/BA-.227 No losses!
Saldate- ERA-0.78/K's-29/Wins-4/BA-.436 Part of a solid one-two punch at Alhambra.
Murphree- ERA-1.04/K's-42/Wins-6/BA-.421 Gave up 4 runs against Sf back in the Elks Tourney, but only 1 since then, leads area in wins.
Edson- ERA-1.27/K's-24/Wins-3/BA-.0 Really stepped up his game with Tuck struggling.
Beltran- ERA-2.05/K's-28/Wins-4/BA-.412 The other half of Alhambra's one-two punch.
Copping- ERA-2.48/K's-35/Wins-2/BA-.333 Young Pitching @ TC but lots of ability.
Tuck- ERA-3.62/K's-18/Wins-2/BA-.361 Pitches great Innings but has trouble putting entire games together.
I was standing behind the backstop next to a scout from UCSB who was looking at KJ Edson during the Burroughs vs Arcadia game, When KJ closed out the last two innings. He was clocking KJ, the ball had good movement and was topping out at 77 to 78 mph.
Ummmm. well, I would THINK that pro baseball scouts know more than we do, since we are a bunch of arm chair warriors - isnt Covey the only one being scouted?
Stats? Arent they dependent on who you play?
OK, so yes, Dylan Covey is altogether the best pitcher in the area. However, I gotta say, I would feel very comfortable going toe-to-toe with KJ Edson on the mound. This is against a good hitting team as well. KJ may not have the velocity that Covey has, but the kid hits spots and is very tough to get a clean hit. His stuff is clean and all pitches have good movement. He has 86-BF and only allowed 11-hits...Opp BA .141, and 4-Runs...ERA 1.27
Maranatha vs Arcadia with Covey vs Edson = VERY Good Game!!
Edson at Arcadia.... Has to get some consideration. Beat Defending C.I.F. Champions San Dimas last night with a complete game 2 hitter.
Paul Paez has been light out against tough competition. Period! not one of those other pitchers has faced what paez has gone through.
kj Edson is a good pitcher and is really hard to hit off. But yeah Covey is he #1 pitcher.
Sam32 and Anonymous-
What are you people thinking? The best pitcher in the area is hands down Dylan Covey. No questions asked.
Saldate hands down. Stats alone proves it.
Saldate or Murphee. Hands down.
Stupid question Miguel.
Covey is the best pitcher.
Your question should be, who is the 2nd best pitcher?
