Hello webmaster I like your post ….

I know it sounds crazy but this reminded me of Abraham Lincoln's: "Everybody likes a compliment."

I truly like this theme style. Can you notify to me which theme you are using? Or was it custom made?

Uh, what was the score between TC and Monrovia?

SM Parent said:

Chkyrslf - No problem.

SJC said:

La Canada 2 - South Pasadena 0

Tough game - South Pas came to hit and play. Great game to watch!

chkyrslf said:

gotcha, sorry for the implication

SM Parent said:

Chkyrslf - The pitcher's dad does not keep stats for San Marino nor does he have involvement with the stat keeping whatsoever. He has never reported anything to Maxpreps and only keeps track of where balls are hit. The oversight will be brought to the score keepers attention.

As far as the home run thing goes, I can see what the writer is talking about. Loicano hit a home run vs San Marino in the previous game and it is only listed in the TC stats, but under the pitcher's (Floyd's) stats for that game there is no acknowledgement of a home run. That may be because the father of the pitcher keeps those stats or it may just be an oversight. It is simply recorded as an earned run.

This is the problem every year with stats on maxpreps, most people do what they want especially when they are trying to establish some sort of dominant force, like a pitcher or a great hitter, or when they try to only show the stats that are complimentary. I have done long lists in the past to try and expose those, but they go virtually unacknowledged.

Yes, how about a bit of recognition for a great young Schurr team, and they're only getting better !!

TC PA said:

Can SOMEONE from San Marino at least acknowledge Jessica's Home Run off of San Marino or is that an inconvenient truth?

LC 7 Monrovia 0

Miguel, Did you mean Schurr? Not Keppel, Because Schurr has beat Keppel twice.

Yes, you are missing something. This happens every year. The PSN rankings mean absolutely nothing and are not based on any criteria, other than the motivation is to create discussion. They never make sense. However, how could they even begin to make sense because you are comparing a very finite group of teams who have huge variations in their respective schedules. In fairness to the PSN, it's impossible to create meaningful rankings because of this.

Also, surprise, surprise ... the rankings always disappear before CIF playoffs every year with no declaration or fanfare and they are totally forgotten about and never mentioned again. There are no awards or recognitions associated with the PSN rankings and they hold absolutely no legitimacy in any regard.

Again, they are established only to generate discussions during the couple of month regular season amongst a few active bloggers/parents amongst each other. Also, to give team recognitions during the season to subscribers of the PSN … bottom line, it sells papers.

The only thing that matters, when all is said and done is which teams go the deepest into the CIF playoffs, and which players make the PSN All-area team, All-league teams, and the for the real select, All-CIF teams.

My bet is that there isn't a soul associated with either the La Canada or San Marino teams who give a hoot about the PSN ranking (which disappears every year anyway and quickly forgotten). I’m sure each team is totally focused on finishing their seasons a strong as possible, and preparing for CIF playoffs.

No one understanding what matters, would ever reference the success of a team by indicating their PSN ranking.

Sounds like Miguel wants more hits on the blog so he is creating discourse.

I am confused how San Marino can be ranked ahead of La Canada when LC has more wins, SM has more losses, head to head LC won 2 games & SM won 1 and the combined points for the 3 games is LC 3 & SM 2.
San Marino isn't ahead of La Canada in any of these criteria.....yet they are deemed the better team? Am I missing something?
