BREAKING NEWS: Donell Wilson transfers to Pasadena
Donell Wilson, a 6-foot-4, 280 pound linemen with offers from Kansas and Tennessee under his belt, has transferred to Pasadena High. Wilson had not been seen or heard from since June 28, according to Blair coach Gary Parks.
"We didn't see him anymore," Parks said. "We e-mailed, called his mom and found out he was at PHS. I found out through various phone calls and e-mails and text messages."
Parks said Blair had the same problem with Wilson last year, when he found out Wilson had been seen on Muir's campus during summer time. Parks said that when he was not admitted at Muir, Wilson returned to Blair.
"I think he's getting bad advice," Parks said. "That's just what I think."
In a rare move, Parks said the school has opted not to challenge the transfer with CIF.
"You know what, I'm not going to challenge it with CIF," said Parks when asked if Blair would make that its next move. "We know and the people involved know that God has the ultimate outcome in everything that we do."
Pasadena coach Randy Horton confirmed Wilson's transfer, but added that paperwork is still being sorted out. Horton said Wilson came up to him sometime in August and said he wanted to play for Pasadena.
"His parents moved and he's in PHS district," Horton said. "One day he came up and said he wanted to play. But he's not playing the first game because everything isn't done yet. He has to get all of his paperwork in."
Wilson practiced three days with Pasadena during fall camp, but Horton said that when he found out Wilson "had not un-enrolled from Blair I pulled him off the field."
When asked how Wilson will bolster PHS' line, Horton said he's not quite sure just yet.
"I can't tell you how much he's going to improve our line until he plays," Horton said. "I knew nothing about him, where he's been or what he's done."
When asked if Horton had ever heard of Wilson, Horton responded, "Nope, never have."

At the end of the day we all know someone was giving advice to donell...what kid transfer from h.s that he been committed to for 3 years.Donnell should know the only reasin he got his exposure is because of coach parks and staff..i gurantee if it wasnt blair donnell grades would never have made him elgible for a scholarship

I remodel my bathroom. I improve The Maecenas, rather spring water is operating by the wall as well as many humidity buildup on ceilling. The shower is on a corner the fan is in the wall ten' a means. Does the Maecenas need to be over The shower or must I built a simulated ceiling during The shower?

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.

This entire situation stinks. And most of the people involved are either ignorant, stupid or both.
How can a school district, a high school and a coach allow a kid on the field without him properly transferring from Blair first? Can you imagine how many people would have been fired if this kid had suffered a serious injury on the field without being PHS student! What a load "didn't know who he was"... 1st question EVERY coach asks a kid when they walk through the door is, "where are you coming from." 1st class by the kid and his family as well... what a great model you are for you son. Lets move to PHS' district and not tell the Blair administration or coaches. Man-up. He has been there since mid-August and the coach the paperwork is undone. In every school I have ever heard of they player must bring proper paperwork from his former school with him to even register, then once he is ACTUALLY a PHS student he needs to get cleared for athletics. Then after 10 days of pads he can play in an actual game as a PHS Bulldog. Sounds too me like coach got all caught up in seeing his new toy and jumped the gun bigtime. Too me the fault is with how the parents left Blair and how Horton handled it once the kid showed up. Whether he was lured to PHS is impossible to say, and doesn't matter. But with CIF denying transfers all over the SGV this year all it will take is a phone call.

Ohhhhh I love the early trash talking between Muir And PHS!!! Here where I stand on as for who takes the crown for the city! PHS and Muir Should always be battling for 1st&2nd in the pacific League! Arcadia, Burroughs, and Burbank dont not have as many skilled athletes as the dogs and stangs!!! I cant wait for the day where the turkey tussle actually has some worth and weight...Not for who gets a playoff berth but who gets the league title! Will it happen this year??? I doubted but it would be nice! Instead of Muir having the dogs on a leash with its tussle win streak!
As far as Donnel Wilson goes, best of luck to him at PHS, I hope he does well, and pushes the dogs past just being average
Congratulations Blair on a great win to start the season! Way to go Coach Parks just keep working hard and everything will take care of its self, including the wins. The most important thing to remember is to have fun.
Blair 32-12 WIN !! These kids are much improved on offense even without Donell Wilson...Go Vikings and continue to improve the team coach.
I was around last off season and during spring and summer football and witness how coach Parks sells his kids to college programs. What a slap in the face to a program who has Big 12 and S.e.c schools offerring scholorships. Parks words must mean something and video was sent out weekly of all his kids..Wilson went from having to qualify academically to hopefully playing this year and having to qualify. Good Luck Wilson you opened the door for the other guys at Blair

People, let it go, Carnell wants to play at PHS not Blair. It would be feudal for Blair to contest this since PHS is making sure everything is done well for CIF regulations. Stop harking on Parks classy behavior. He knows that it would be a loosing proposition and he needs to concentrate on what is left. Accept that Wilson does not want to play on a loosing program and wants to build onto one that can really upgrade with his presence. Wilson wanted to leave Blair it seems like for a while. I have read more trash from Muir soreheads than from Blair fans. So get over it Muir, you did not get this talent and i hope you feel it down the line. Knock them out Bulldogs!!!

I do not know if it is good for the sport or bad for the sport that Coach Parks does not challenge the transfer. Either way Parks is showing a great deal of class, if you do not want to play here then good luck to you, wherever you go. You don’t want your best players to transfer but if they do why chase them and take away from your current team. Good Luck Coach Parks and the Blair Vikings.

PHS coach has no idea about donnel that is hard to believe. i heard they tried to take another blair player but he woundnt go. i think that even tho donnel moved he still has to respect coach parks by still playing for the coach that recruited him
It is no surprise that the big guy on Blair's field is gone. The only shocker is that he waited so long! Coach Parks shows class not challenging the move. Blair was 0-10 last season with Donnell on the team; things can not get any worse with his transfer…
How is it that Wilson could practice with PHS three or more times before transferring? He is a good player and will help them a lot. They could possibly make the playoffs this year. This reminds me of King James leaving Cleveland. The only thing missing was an ESPN Special called "The Decision". The Blair Vikings are hurting but I like the fact that they are not challenging this move through CIF. Let the kid play if he wants to transfer. However PHS is suppose to check all paperwork before they let a kid on the field...no excuses. None! That's a clear violation!
Just to make it clear...Muir does not breed football players...Muir has their spies and scouts pulling talent from neighboring schools for years.

Please note that Wilson not attending Muir probably had to do with the fact that Muir still lacks the ability to educate its masses at the levels that PHS and even Blair can. The new Bulldog parents look to have made the right decision. Education first, why can’t Muir get that right?

who is this breaking news to? he's been trying to switch since last year but he couldn't because of his grade situation. He is a good player and can be amazing but grades come first right?...he went to muirs practice but shortly left after seeing what muir was doing hes not lazy at all i wouldn't say he is but he chose phs because there is no competition there he can come in and start right away at muir he would have to work for his starting role and hes just trying to be phs star because muir has too many as it is. hope the best for him but one guy cant change anything

Dena is not good. Im sorry. Muir breeds great football players. The last good thing to come out of HS was Armon Binns. And he graduated in 07. And even with the now Cincinatti star, the Dawgs couldnt beat Muir. What makes you think that this years team is that much better than Muir?

The kid has promise..and good speed for his size...I hope it comes together for him. He played through a hellacious losing Vikings season last year....
