CLICK THREAD FOR POSITION RANKINGS

TOP FIVE QUARTERBACKS

1. Nick Bueno, Monrovia, Sr.
The speedy, 5-foot-9 quarterback took the San Gabriel Valley by storm, beginning with a steady arm his sophomore year and elusive speed on the ground his junior year. Bueno passed for 1,037 yards and 10 touchdowns in his first year of varsity in 2008. His elusiveness proved to be a key weapon for the Wildcats, as he rushed for 1,461 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also passed for 978 yards and 10 touchdowns, proving he still can air it out when needed. Bueno will be instrumental if Monrovia is to make its second consecutive Mid-Valley Division finale.

2. Hunter Merryman, Pasadena Poly, Sr.

Perhaps the area's most prototypical quarterback, Merryman looks to make a name for himself after a standout 2009 season. The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder passed for 1,414 yards and 16 touchdowns against just two interceptions. Merryman led the Panthers to a third-place finish in the Prep League, but look for expectations to rise with the return of Merryman and standout running back Blake Edwards.

3. Brett Nelson, St. Francis, Sr.

This is Nelson's year, and this is also his team after transferring to St. Francis from Loyola last year. He primarily served as a backup, though he challenged Justin Posthuma for the starting job. This season will be different, though. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder has the pedigree to become a star in the tough Mission League and Western Division. St. Francis coach Jim Bonds is excited about the lefty, who has good vision, can throw the ball deep with relative ease and can also throw on the run.

No. 4 Conor Bednarski, South Pasadena, Sr.
The 6-foot-4, 203 pounder has attended numerous summer camps and improved his mechanics. Bednarski is being recruited by several Division I and II schools, running a 4.7 forty at Vanderbilt.
Bednarski threw for 1,054 yards and five touchdowns. That the Tigers are running specific plays for Bednarski speaks about his drastic improvement and the coaching staff's confidence in him.

5. Matt Macias, Rosemead, Sr.
Macias adds another dimension to the Panthers' dynamic. His steady arm and consistency were instrumental in 2009. The 5-foot-9, 150-pounder passed for 1,050 yards and 12 touchdowns, solidifying the Panthers' aerial attack to complement the running game. With a year under his belt, look for Macias to grow comfortable in the pocket and make a bigger impact in 2010.

TOP FIVE RUNNING BACKS

1. Matt Fregoso, Rosemead, Sr.
You can expect to see a lot more of Fregoso in 2010. The 5-foot-9, 165-pounder rushed for 1,453 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2009, and it wasn't until Week 3 when he started making a name for himself. Fregoso averaged nearly six yards per carry and 133 yards per game. He was the team's lone bright spot after rushing for 170 yards and one touchdown in the Panthers' first-round loss to San Marino in the CIF-Southern Section Mid-Valley Division playoffs.

2. Charles Quintero, Rio Hondo Prep, Sr.
Who says small schools can't put players on the map? Quintero, at 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds, has the speed, patience and agility that would complement any offense on any team. He rushed for 979 yards and 16 touchdowns while sharing duties in the backfield with teammate Nick Preciado, a senior who in 2009 rushed for 960 yards and 10 touchdowns. They will share duties again in 2010, but expect Quintero's flashy moves to capture the Valley's attention. The three-sport athlete also had three interceptions and scored 20 total touchdowns in leading the Kares to the Northeast Division championship game.

3. Rodney Arnett, Arcadia, Jr.
Injuries weren't enough last year to slow down Arnett, who ran for 670 yards and three touchdowns. Arnett will be called upon to carry the backfield this season. The small but quick Arnett made a name for himself as a freshman, where he caught the attention of Arcadia coach Jim Dimalante.

4. Dalheep Sandhu, La Canada, Sr.
Sandhu showed glimpses of producing big numbers in 2009, when he rushed for 668 yards and seven touchdowns. Sandhu was a second option in the Spartans' offense last year behind the Rocky Moore-Josh Hanson tandem. They've since graduated, meaning there's a bigger priority in establishing the run with an experienced player like Sandhu.

5. Blake Edwards, Pasadena Poly, Sr.
Edwards is a threat anywhere he lines up. The 5-foot-8 senior was a reliable source of production in 2009. He rushed for 637 yards and nine touchdowns while also catching 27 passes for 575 yards and five touchdowns. Edwards, a reigning All-CIF honoree, also had 53 solo tackles and three interceptions. Edwards' versatility will be a powerful tool for the Panthers.

TOP FIVE WIDE RECEIVERS

1. Taylor Lagace, Arcadia, Jr.
A rising star in the making Lagace, as a sophomore in 2009, caught 74 passes for 895 yards and 12 touchdowns. the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder's physicality complemented his style, and in return posted stellar numbers in his first season on varsity. The Star-News All-Area first-team honoree averaged 12 yards per catch and had a season-high 144 yards receiving and three touchdowns against Burroughs. Look for plenty of connections between Lagace and Myles Carr, a 6-foot junior quarterback in his second year on varsity.

2. Travis Talianko, St. Francis, Jr.
Primarily a tight end who posted impressive numbers as a sophomore, Talianko is looking forward to a season in which his presence will make it tough on defenses because of his size. But the 6-foot-1, 195-pounder has made offseason strides in adding upper body strength and speed. Talianko is looking to improve on a sophomore season in which he had 52 catches for 859 yards and seven touchdowns. He helped lead the Golden Knights to a quarterfinal run in the Western Division playoffs and earned Star-News All-Area first-team honors.

3. Jay Kolina, La Canada, Sr.
The 6-foot, 200-pound wide receiver will be the Spartans' primary target. Kolina in 2009 caught 23 passes for 330 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged 14.35 yards per catch, and in four games had receptions of more than 40 yards each. Josh Hanson (31 catches, 800 yards, seven touchdowns) was the go-to guy last year, but he graduated.

4. Jay Henderson, Monrovia, Sr.
The 6-foot-2, 165-pounder has all the makings of becoming a big target for quarterback Nick Bueno, who will implement an air assault to complement his running game this season. The go-to guy very well may be Henderson, who as a junior had 11 catches for 119 yards, a 10.82-yard average, and two touchdowns.

5. Andres Fernandez, San Gabriel, Sr.
Fernandez quietly had a productive season as a junior for the Matadors. The 5-foot-4, 135-pounder will be an integral part in San Gabriel's offense after totaling 31 catches for 487 yards and two touchdowns. He had a season-high eight catches for 177 yards against a tough Bell Gardens team and led the Matadors to a convincing 49-28 win. That it happened on the road was even more impressive.

TOP FIVE DEFENSIVE PLAYERS

1. Ellis McCarthy, Monrovia, Defensive End, Jr.
There's arguably no bigger presence on any defensive line in the West San Gabriel Valley than McCarthy. The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder was a dominant force as a sophomore, producing senior-like numbers. McCarthy made 71 tackles, but made a bigger impact as a pass-rusher. He hurried just about every quarterback he faced, and it wasn't long before he saw double coverage. He finished with nine sacks last year and was well on his way to earning first-team All-Rio Hondo League and Star-News All-Area first-team honors.

2. Donell Wilson, Blair, Defensive Tackle, Sr.
The 6-foot-4, 285-pounder is eager to get back on the field after a 2009 season plagued by injuries. Wilson sprained his ankle in the season opener and couldn't shake off the injury. He caught the attention of major Division I schools at various summer camps and already has offers from Kansas and Tennessee. Though he's expected to anchor the offensive line, Wilson figures to make his presence felt as a fierce run-stopper. Don't expect Wilson to get blocked one-on-one.

3. Mark Covarrubias, San Gabriel, Defensive Back, Sr.
Don't be fooled by his size. The 5-foot-6 defensive back earned Star-News All-Area first-team honors after a standout season offensively and defensively. He recorded 124 tackles and three interceptions. His speed and vertical leap make him a show-stopper. He's also an athletic wide receiver, making 57 catches for 815 yards and six touchdowns. His versatility is one of the reasons San Gabriel nearly toppled Schurr for the Almont League title in 2009.

4. Tim Sanderson, Temple City, Linebacker, Sr.
The 6-foot-4 linebacker is going to be integral to the Rams' success this season. In 2009, Sanderson made 112 tackles and had double-digit tackles in all but three games. He can be elusive, showing as much when he returned an interception 50 yards last season. Sanderson also will be a big target at tight end, and will play a bigger role shouldering responsibility on offense.

5. Derrick Johnson, Monrovia, Linebacker, Sr.
He earned second-team Star-News All-Area linebacker in 2009 after making 91 tackles (61 solo), one sack, an interception and recovering three fumbles. Johnson, a 6-foot, 235-pounder, will be as punishing on the offensive side as a key running back. He rushed for 648 yards and 15 touchdowns as part of a deep running-back rotation for the Wildcats.

how to prepare for a big game; Play a lot of poker! I think having a lot of experience in cash games has definitely helped me be successful in deep stacked live tournaments since a lot of tournament players aren’t too comfortable playing 60+ big blinds deep. I also think that playing turbo and super turbo tournaments online has helped me a lot with playing with 0-25bbs. Stack sizes are so important in tournaments and feeling confident with different stacks will really give you a good chance.

Writer's obstruct can be closely related to depression and anxiety, two disorders that reflect environmentally-caused or spontaneous changes in the brain's frontal lobe. This is in contrast to hypergraphia, more closely linked to mania, in which the changes occur primarily in the temporal lobe. These processes, and their implications for treatment, are described in neurologist Alice Flaherty's book The Midnight Disease. Nevertheless, another interpretation of writer's block, occasionally confused with scant output, is given in the book Silences, by Tillie Olsen, who argues that historically many women and working-class writers have been unable to devote themselves to, or concentrate on, their composing simply because their social and economic circumstances prevent them from doing so. It's widely thought that writer's block is part of a natural ebb and flow within the creative process. Author Justina Headley explains in keynote speeches that for her it comes from losing touch with the characters about whom she is writing; and that by discovering who they are again, the block disintegrates.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It's very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

Hello, I'd like to talk from my experience since I've tried several demo accounts before I went live, and I have to say all of them were the same in terms of execution as the idea is to accomplish the goal of getting used to all the features. Though the fact that you made $5k profit on demo doesn't guarantee it will be repeated, so my non-asked advice is to practice a lot more with your demo before going live if you don't want to blow up your account. And when live you can go back to demo whenever you want to test strategies.

I really like the colors here on your blog. did you design this yourself or did you outsource it to a professional?

I have been following NASCAR since 1988 but I'm about to say I have had enough. I really can't see watching anymore when you know who's going to win the championship every year. I'm so sick of the Rick Hendricks show. First we had to put up with Gordon now it's Jimmy Johnson. No wonder nascar is losing fans in the stands and on TV. I'll continue to watch the big races (Talladega, Daytona and Indianapolis) and go to the two phoenix races but that will be about it for me. Racing on television is nothing but commercial festivals anyway these days.

A really helpful entry.

So true. Mostly lazy, fat, unemployed people on welfare. But I do have a very slow metabolism and have to eat right and excersize regularly to keep a normal body weight. When some people eat whatever and stay a twig.

I lost about 10lb, but I've never felt such strong cravings for the sweets. As soon as I went back to the previous diet, I gained it all back. Here is a trick to stay thin. Avoid or cut down intake of your favorite foods and you will loose weight.

This is getting a bit more subjective, however I much want the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colourful, has extra flair, and some cool options like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see associated albums, songs, or different users associated to what you're listening to. Clicking on a kind of will heart on that item, and one other set of "neighbors" will become visible, permitting you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Talking of customers, the Zune "Social" can also be great fun, letting you discover others with shared tastes and turning into pals with them. You then can take heed to a playlist created primarily based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which can also be enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy shall be relieved to know you'll be able to forestall the public from seeing your private listening habits when you so choose.

One could argue that truly great web designers will get business through word-of-mouth and recommendations (indeed, this is how i know the majority of my freelance designer colleagues get their business).

Director Thomas Kail uses this staged narrator as a representative to show just how difficult it could be to crack Lombardi’s cryptic nature. Imagine having to cover him on assignment. It’s only through a series of flashbacks in the play that we discover what makes Lombardi tick – his passion, his loyalty, his devotion, his ambition. Through those short memories we begin to comprehend why his wife and his players – and even eventually his profiler – stand by him.

You should never put your extreme bikini into the washing machine. You'll find that the fabric won't hold up and you may get little pill balls on the fabric, which looks horrible. Hand wash your bikini instead of trying to put it in the washing machine.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.

There are certain unspoken rules that you might want to follow when it comes to wearing boots. First of all, never ever wear a skirt and a pair of boots without wearing nylon stockings, tights or fishnet stockings, especially during the winter season. Also, make sure you wear the right kinds of boots for different occasions.
