When a person decides on a fitness program that includes exercise stomach, it is best to include stomach exercises that work different parts of the stomach. If a person only concentrates on one area of your stomach, There will not be as effective training. How do you win a football game? According to the rules of the game, the team that scores one more point than its opponent is considered at the end of the contest the “winner” Who give a rat’s ass how many “big plays” have been given up, just "score" (and that's the big word of the day for all you laymen out there) one more point than the other guy and you win, sounds pretty simple to me……

Hey Jimmy the Greek, just let the boys determine the outcome... said:

So what you are tryng to say is that those types of play don't happen in football games? Last time I checked, MHS is 5-1 averaging 18.5 a game. If the Offense scores it's 40 PPG then all your analysis is for not. Will MHS's D stop WC Offense "hell no" even a blind man can see that and even with the so called "big plays" happening, MHS still has to score points against a very solid, determined Defense with a D-1 nose tackle anchored right in the middle. The Defense can give up 2-3-4,heck even 5 big plays but if the Offense can't move the ball down the field and put it in the endzone, what does it matter? Just trying to figure out your logic on this "suspect defense" Last time I checked it took three phases of the game to come out with a victory, unless of course we are playing this game on another planet, that would be news to me....

Do your homework befor posting.

I did do my home work. Big Bear scored on plays of 50 yards or longer. La Salle had a long passing play to score. Santa Maria had long runs to put them in scoring position to score. La Canada scored on a 30 yard qb sneak. Hell even 0-6 Western Christian had a long kick-off return to put them in scoring position. But even bigger than that we are not talking about scoring averages. We are not talking about Andrew Elfers efforts, we are talking about this MHS defense that has the ability to have pitched 4 shutouts to this point, but have yet to do that. La Salle, Santa Maria, La Canada, and Western Cristian. No on has of yet this season stopped MHS offense, but that defense has not been able to completely stop any on either. Like I said, If that defense is able to stop WC big plays. As well as stopping them on 3rd down, then this game is over now. but that probably is not going to happen. Making this game very game very entertaining. But I still believe MHS wins base on the Salisian game. MHS put up 29 points to WC 21. But WC only gave up 14 points to MHS 28. Hmmmmmm. There goes that suspect defense rearing it head again. but all in all MHS gets it done tonight.

Do your homework first before posting.... said:

Don’t know who your alliance is with but if you would have done your homework, prior to making any type of statements regarding the MHS D you would have seen WC’s D has given up 127 points (21 PPG) vs. MHS’s 111 (18.5 PPG). If this stays consistent on Friday night. MHS wins by 3…….The closest game for the Minutemen was Salesian but it took a stellar defensive stand to get the ball back to the Offense for them to have a chance a pull out the victory. On other note, WC Offense has scored 218 (36 PPG) vs. MHS 242 (40 PPG) all I know is this is going to be a great game, it could come down to a field goal, last minute drive or defensive stand, either way it’s going to be fun to watch and cheer for but I’m still taking MHS by 3

Toucan Sam said:

Hey Natha fans and supporters... do something you never do for your boys, SHOW UP TO THE GAME AND SUPPORT THEM!!! You are extremely inconsistent on doing so! It's a great facility that WC plays at and Friday night could/should be a new beginning for the Minutemen.... YEP, WC is on paper the best team (SIZE, EXPERIENCE, etc..), but like John Wayne said, if Maranatha shows up and plays TRULY to their potential and handles themselves like a hungry football program is suppose to, then saturday morning the headlines will read in the unfavorables favor.
But like I said, WC is solid and really will bring an A game! Afterall, you don't schedule a tough opponent that might challenge you for your HOMECOMING. You want to treat them as a whipping tool!
WC does get back a stellar piece of a runner this week also.... shut him down & their run game and make them try to beat you in the air!
I hope for an injury free and amazing game Friday night. You better believe I will be there and hopefully all Minutemen faithful as well!!!!!!!
Pumped for Friday night....
Oh, MIGUEL can you do something about the San Gabriel ref'ing crew (for both WC and Natha)?????? Both sides want a stellar ref'ing crew out there, so no one points fingers... hahahhaa

hey !! said:

all i gotta say is:

A. cantwell is in a higher division than dub-c and was ranked number two in their division

and that's all i have to say about that...

oh and dub-c doesn't rely upon big plays... I'm just saying

10 A C said:

Miguel would expect that from you, and I appreciate you consistancy. I undrstand the logic behind you pics. You started off picking against them, and the are 5-1. So if you continue to pic he way you have then MHS will continue to win, so please stay consistent in your pics. You really dont believe MHS is going to loose to WC. Idealistically I wuld like to see MHS soundly beat WC, but i dont think that will happen. What I do think is that MHS will win, it will be close, but they will win. IF. Thier defense doesn't give up big plays, and thier kick-off return team covers the kick-offs. That defense has been suspect all season, Big Bear, La Salle, Santa Maria, Western Christian, La Canada, hell everyone they have played have had big plays against this defense. So if MHS can shut down the big play then this game is over right now, but because the probably wont. Get Ready fr some entertaining football. Oh yes and the Tartans ARE NOT WHAT THEY WERE A YEAR AGO EITHER.

john Wayne said:

Well here we go! You are correct about finally getting some "ink" on Natha.
Miguel, going with the safe pick? It will be one heck of a game for either team. If Maranatha SHOWS up to play and play to their potential, then the Minutemen will WIN!
By the way, Miguel if you would have actually been at any of the Maranatha games you might actually get a chance to see a young QB do some things that most his age only fantasize about. You might want to get a copy of the Salesian game... in their house, with that amazing crowd they have - to put the game on his shoulders and do what he did! Don't leave out Chris Cornell, Trent Washington, Joshua Jones, on your list either!
Miguel, I like the IQ - "this game is a huge game" duh... it's insanely huge! Absolutely, as ALL games are, especially in league. W.C. is awesome but, I look forward to Friday night... a fight... a well played and well ref'ed game, and a victory!

WC Loyal said:

Maranatha is good but we're gonna take them down!
You don't have the talent or size to match up with us.
Mark my words. The Heralds will win Friday night and win BIG!!

Just Me said:

What comment would you have the Maranatha fan base make about being the only team to win? You don't find Maranatha fans bashing other programs and it's not like we were going to stick our chests out and say something arrogant. I for one wish the Pasadena school's would go undefeated every week. Miguel's pick may in fact be verified Friday night but all reporters deserve a little whipping when they pick against their hometown team that they know very little about.

Anonymous said:

Miguel wrote about Maranatha being the only winning Pasadena team just this past weekend. He even put a picture of that giant cranium mascot thing. Guess what...only 3 comments. It appears that people just like to whine about Miguel much more than actually discuss Maranatha football.

Tommy TuTone said:

I love that Miggy has to constantly look at his notes when talking about Maranatha while Campa can ramble off about Whittier Christian no problem. We know who does their homework! hahaha

the man said:

hey we at dub-c arent viewing u guys as the underdogs... u guys are pretty good and so are we... so we are gunna have a war on friday... but hey still got that christian love.

ps. we understand the underdog position... we were underdogs all of last year.

Underdog is a comfortable role said:

First of all, as a Maranatha fan, we appreciate any coverage you can give us. Being 5-1 and not being covered with a real article yet is ok. This team may be the best that Maranatha has ever had. Certainly athletically they are, from what I have seen. This should be a very good match-up and unfortunately I won't be able to see it. I certainly hope that with this video preview, it might mean that Maranatha will get it's first real post game article (rather than the all too common short paragraph from a "correspondent").
Who knows, maybe even some photos?? Good luck MHS.
This is a very fun team to watch with loads of talent!

Tom S said:

Wow MM, love the reaction when you went with WC over Maranatha. That's ok, the Minutemen have been underdogs for the most part all season in your eyes. I'm looking forward to a great game.

Heralds Baby said:

Thank you Campa for coming back to the your home team!!! Let's go W.C!!!

Just Me said:

RHL fan,

No complaining here, I'm simply stating the facts of which one cast the QB in a worse light than that represented. As a RHL fan I would assume that when your league or team is misrepresented you feel compelled to correct that misrepresentation, don't you? I realize the Star News does not have the staff to cover every local team in depth week in and week out, but when a feature is done on a huge Mid-Valley match up the person reporting should at the very least check MaxPreps, call the coach, etc. I like Miguel and I think he writes great editorials, which in my opinion is where his gifts are greatest, but I think even he would admit that he does not know Maranatha very well.

lee roy jones said:

Hi Anonymous, I will agree that Cantwell did have a very good first half, but W.C was on their way to a great come-back, Cantwell's running game was eliminated with # 22 getting hurt (ribs) and the refs beginning to throw flags ( funny how they missed all those calls in the first half)I think that Cantwell was very lucky when you consider the fact that they were up by three toucdowns at one point! I just feel that time was on Cantwell's side. I think this game will serve as a wake-up call for W.C. All in all, I think there were lesions learned from this contest

RHL fan said:

All maranatha fans complain about is mmelendez never giving you guys the respect or recognition you think you deserve and now that Maranatha gets a video break down in the 2 minute drill they focus on the negative. Way to kill the hand that feeds you.

Anonymous said:

don't forget salesian's number 55 going d1 too

Just Me said:

Santa Maria's nosetackle has numerous division 1 offers many coming from the PAC 10. Maranatha scored 56 against that defense. Elffers has 4 interceptions, not 2. Do your homework Miguel. You do not know this Maranatha team and that's OK, just don't pretend to know them. You may be right in your pick but the bottom line is that you do not know much about Maranatha football.

anonymous said:

campa has seen whittier christian get demolished by cantwell
oh and campa by the way christian espioza did not get sacked by jeff worthy the offensive line took care of worthy and espinoza has not been sacked this year once!!!!

The eyeball test said:

Should be a great game but with their expertise I wonder if either of these guys have watched a Maranatha game this year? I know Miguel hasn't but I'm sure Campa has watched Whittier Christian.
