Football: Maranatha will play biggest game in history

| | Comments (82) |

Maranatha's played for the CIF-Southern Section East Valley Division championship and numerous semifinal games. Still, it pales in comparison to the task the Minutemen face Friday when they travel to visit defending Mid-Valley Division champion San Dimas.

"We're not making light of this: This is the best school and biggest game in our school's history. We've played in some big games before, but nothing like the competition or the level we're in right now." -- Joel Murphy, Maranatha coach.

It will be wonderful to discover Melbourne is identification so highly pra ised on an worldwide level (even when the do the job was undertaken ??externally??? ). The shame of it is barely any from the encouraged applications have been carried out. In fact, the Metropolis of Melbourne have selected to disregard very much of what we saw from Landor shortly following the identity was launched. Overall implementation has so far been really poor and does notlook like getting far better anytime soon.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.

I admire the valuable information you offer in your articles. I will bookmark your blog and have my children check up here often. I am quite sure they will learn lots of new stuff here than anybody else!

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.

I am extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it's rare to see a nice blog like this one these days.. :)

I actually agree with Coach Murphy on his statement about being the biggests game yet. Not taking anything away to the success that he has had at MHS but I do think winning in the Mid-Valley is even more impressive than a win in the East Valley yet alone the Northeast division where they played for a championship. I think Coach Murphy's comment accurately reflects the programs goal to be a legitimate program in a great division--not a great program in a suspect division. Having watched Maranatha and their success under Murphy you got to believe it's only time before they bring a championship home.

Sorry Minutemen said:

The truth to this matter is this...the Minutemen will not be able to stop the Saints running attack and the Saints have a decent passing offense themselves. Last week La Puente ran up and down the field on the Minutemen defense and their (LP) two best running backs were on the side line in plain cloths (nursing injuries). La Puentes receivers got passed the Minutemen secondary on a couple of occasions but but Lps sophmore over threw them. Not to mention the fumble by the LP receiver breaking for the inzone.

Yes, Elffers is probaly one of the best (upcoming) QBs in the SGV and he has some good receivers but they will not win this shootout. San Dimas has taller and better Dbs than LP and that will make a big difference this week. Hey, I'm not trying to burst anyones bubble but that's just the facts...sorry Minutemen.

I have to agree with you. Playing a championship game even though it was a lower division has to be the biggest game Maranatha’s played in. The excitement that night at PCC was huge rivaling the Valley Christian 5 overtime game this year. But this week’s game against San Dimas will be great to see. I can’t wait for Friday and will bring my turkey sandwich to munch on. Miguel, any word on JJ and if he’ll play?

Playing against St Margarets in the finals vs playing SD in the quarters...not sure I agree. Granted, Harry Welch was not at St Margarets then, but still.I'd say that championship was probably a bigger game.
