PrepXtra's Turkey Tussle Edition hits newstands Friday

| | Comments (41) |

Here's the cover of PrepXtra's Turkey Tussle Edition. It will be inserted for home delivery and hit the newstands in the Pasadena/Altadena area Friday. This project truly was a collaborative effort. Managing editor Steve Hunt and preps eidtor Fred J. Robledo oversaw the week-long project while Fred Robledo Sr. (Freddy's dad), Aram Tolegian, Jim McConnell and myself provided editorial content, which includes features on a player from each team, profiles on both head coaches, a history of the Victory Bell and much, much more. A lot of credit also goes to staffer Evelyn Barge, who did an outstanding job with the design throughout. I'm confident this magazine will be a true keepsake for you all, so be sure to pick up a copy at the Star-News office or buy a bunch from the vendors selling them for $1 at the Rose Bowl. You won't see a better game preview magazine.

Loved it, thanks.

What a relief to learn a piece of paper that possibly will be at last in fact meaning reading! I’ve been in search of all-around about this topic except men and women now put trash posts, or brief meaningless article. I contain noticed a couple vids on youtube but it’s now the equivalent as reading a good article.

Great website, I really love hiting on ladies. So much hours of enjoyment to be had!

I don't know what Ciara has been doing for the past half year. It's already been a long time since she dropped her great single Ride, with the sultry music video. Ludacris seems to get his albums on time, so where has Ciara been? I really can't wait for her next album, Basic Instinct, to be released. It's really killing me.

Seems like Amerie is really switching it up in her newest tracknamed Outside Your Body! She's returning to her Korean roots in this track, combining R&B with Korean pop music. This avant-garde song sounds amazing on my phone and I really can't wait for the music video to be released.

I looked for it at the newstand today and it was not with my newpaper. Other than the Turkey Tussle, where can I find this copy?

I love CB's Yeah 3x music video! His footwork was extremely cool and the song is a great follow-up than his Graffiti album. I hope he gets plenty of sales of his upcoming album when it drops December or 2011!

Rihanna ripped the beat from Only Girl apart with her passionate vocals! I wish that the remainder of Loud are just as exciting! Her musical flavor is great this time round and I totally love it!

I would love to have a copy of the special edition! My brother graduated from Muir in '74 and I graduated from PHS in '86. I have been mesmerized by the tussle since I was a young child. I think it is awesome and long over due! Way to go!

It's about time.

The history of the Turkey Tussle is, to say the least, one of the greatest high school sports rivalry in the San Gabriel Valley. We all have that first memory of the TT, mine was watching my brother - Michael Sanford (running back PHS), play in 1979....I think we won that year, HA! It was also my first introduction to Muir's Drum Squad...which we all know, there ain't a Tussle without the "Squad." I'm confident there were at least 15k people in the stadium...YEs!! 15k.

The Turkey Tussle is also an indicator of the next "great thing" to come from the city of Pasadena. Mario Clark, Chris McAlister, Ricky Ervins, Chad Brown, Marcus Roberson, Anthony Miller, Derrik Holmes, Jimmy Wilkes (I know I'm missing some people, so no hate mail)are just a few of the greats that have played in this great tradition. Coach Tom Hamilton(PHS) and Coach Brownfield (Muir) should both be honored for their legacies on that field.

I'm predicting a PHS upset, but regardless of the victor, the Turkey Tussle will once again host one of the biggest alumni reunions. Thus, we all win!

Great job, Miguel.
