    ELLIS iS A BETTER DLINEMAN. He is 3 inches taller and he is 300lbs moving like that and only a jr. He makes as many plays as Worthy, but he is a better athlete. You can see by who is after these two. Worthy is a excellent Regional Recruit, but Ellis is a nationally one. Expect the BCS conference schools to come looking for Ellis next year.

    Both players are definately D1 caliber and both are probably really nice guys off the field as well. As a Wildcat fan I’m curious as to why there is no highlight films of Derrick Johnson. The hardest hitter on the team and probably the entire San Gabriel Valley. Worthy reminds me of the Guy from Arcadia Todd big stout and a finisher, wheas McCarthy is an instigator and will come through your front door with 7 deadbolts attached. Monrovia and Whittier Christian have more in common than most teams around. Both teams are very well rounded on offense and Defense. Monrovia holds the edge on the athletism and can run away with a game if given any opportunity. As a (Biased Fan) I give Monrovia the edge on the D, Much faster to the ball and much more physical. Whittier Christian has a great offense and a great QB but the problem will be can they step it up well beyond what they have acheived thus far? My answer is NO, but only time will tell. Monrovia runs an explosive type offense that usually puts defenses on their heels most of the game and when Nick running that show….Oh well you know what that means. But as for this Sat. I hope the whole San Gabriel Valley comes out and supports the Cat. It will be a part of history that will and cannot be ignored.

    Some impressive footage of Worthy. Kid has textbook arm extension and good handfighting skills. Maintains good separation from blockers and reads like a champ.

    Remember EM’s footage is sophomore year and simply put, he was not the force he is today when he was a sophomore…few kids are world beaters on their 15th birthday. Nonetheless, the footage shows his athleticism and range – a more current highlight reel would show plenty of QB’s running in survival mode with #18 closing them down.

    is having.

    He has football instincts much like TC’s Matt O’Malley had, a nose for the ball and able to wreak havoc once finding it. Near impossible to deter him once he has locked on his target and prefers to destroy his target with the maximum level of impact.

    What words belittle the Guy? I did not say he wasn’t Good. I did not say he was not D1. I said he is Regional Recruit, meaning he is one of the best in the region. They have the same amount of tackles, but Ellis has more sacks. Is there anything on here that is not true? Is Ellis not a espn top 30 soph(That’s National)? Isn’t he athletic when he is catching balls? This 300lbs kid pick up a Fumble and ran it back 30-40 yrds for a TD. It’s ok to say you think someone is better than the another person. This is sports evaluation. I am sure Ellis and Worthy know there are other people out there who may be better! Listen the reason why Ellis is better, is because he has more upside. He can play Dline, and don’t be surprised if someone turns him into a offensive tackle. That may be his true ticket to the league.

    Before you try to correct someone, learn the difference between sports evaluation and belittle someone. I am not “SGV RAT”. This article was comparing each teams best lineman. Then they showed video… how can you not discuss who is better.

    Geesh don’t cry about! If you think Worthy is better. Bust out the stats….Ellis has better stats. He is a better Duh!

    McCarthy has a big frame that is all maybe he will improve by next year but all I know is Worthy went out and earned his scholarship offers. He went to countless camps around the nation and earned every offer. I dare McCarthy to go to camps in Texas or Arizona those MEN would eat McCarthy for dinner.. He stands straight up off the ball and cannot read an offense very well. Watch for Worthy (if they even need him on offense) to get right under that big framed boy and pancake him all night.

    Scouting King: You talk about Worthy & McCarthy, but what you forget the best defensive player out there is #6, there is a reason that the Wildcats D is simply the best in the west. Derrick Johnson is the hardest hitting LB I’ve seen in a long time. Having Ellis tripple teamed there is no way they get around Johnson and Brown. You may want to change that scoreboard. Just flip the score and your post will be complete.

    First of all go to we are SC. Thats the USC recruiting and information page. There you will see where McCarthy was evaluated and he was deemed “Impressive”. They offered him a scholarship after that. All you have to do is compare stats. At the end of the season maxpreps had Worthy with 63 tackles and 4 Sacks. Maxpreps had McCarthy at 60 tackles and 11 Sacks. Numbers don’t lie. We are comparing a junior to a senior. Worthy is a beast! I can’t wait to see him play on Saturday. McCarthy is a Beast. He is a man child. He is doing all this and he has not even adapted into his body yet. Worthy did have to work hard and go to every camp(his technique is excellent). Ellis has not even done all that yet. Still, As of now he is a higher prospect than Worthy was or is today. I expect both of them to play well in the finals. Put it line this…South hills has 2-3 D1 lineman on their team, and McCarthy still got doubled and tripled. He is a space eater. You just don’t see 300lbs kids, who move like that. Just imagine next year he will be 6’6 310 lbs. Thats NFL man. With right training he will play on Sunday. You can’t teach size or speed, in this case both. Ellis will be too much Saturday night.

    These Teams are so evenly match its not funny. Who is gonna win. If you look at each teams road to the finals, Monrovia played a tough Non league schedule and Whitter Christian played a tough league schedule. In the playoffs Whittier Christian play a tougher 3 teams, but Monrovia took out the defending champ at home. Whittier Christian Scores alot of points, But they also give up alot of points. Monrovia on the other hand does not give up alot of points. They showed how dominating they can be in rout against San Dimas. Monrovia will win this game because they have more threats! Whittier Christian has not play one team this year, with speed Monrovia has on the outside. NO, Covina does not have the speed or Size Monrovia has. It will be tough for Monrovia to run, but they will be able to get behind the Whittier Christian Secondary. If Bueno can find them, this one won’t be close. However, Monrovia has not seen a dominating Dline with Worthy and Company. This one lines up to a great one! We will see Saturday.
