  • Conratulations to all the players, especially, Arthur Brown, Andy Guerrero , Steven Park, and Eric Magos, Rebels are proud of you

  • Too Much sharing!

How Many “Co” Awards are there going to be. There has to be a way to stop this. “Co Player” of the year is a rare thing. Now every year you se CO CO CO….Geesh. Someone was better than the other. Get some Balls and Chose the best guy. What a disgrace. If you go back and look at All the “All CIF” teams dating back to 1970, you rarely see a “co” player. When they do have CO players its because the two players are that good. I am sure this was not the case in the Almont league. Congrats to players, but shame on the Coaches and league officials for have so many shared awards… This is not rec league. Geesh!

Yep,I agree with “Too much sharing”. Any acheivement should be based on the overall season from start to finish. The senior QB’s were both good, but one beat the other in league play and the other went to the playoffs “that’s why they went “co” and the kid from San Gabriel stepped in late in the season and won a couple of games which gave him MVP. The first team QB had an injury, honestly he was a play maker but health is part of the game as well. I dont agree with the 1st team selection, nothing against the QB but he did not finish the season. All in all, it is coaches making room for there players and not putting some seniors on the 2nd team like they should have and also because you have two “Hot Shot” QB’s trying to play at the next level.

  • “Moor to Come”

Congrats to all the Moors, looking for “Moor to come” !!!

to that idiot thats crying about too many awards. go pout somewhere else! these kids work hard and the more awards that go out the better. not all these kids are going to play at the next level.geesh!

  • Almont follower

I agree with too much “Co” awards. Coaches need to vote for the guys that are the best players and not reward players because they do not want to offend another program. Some kids are not being evaluated fairly and stats are blown up for all league awards. How do 4th and 5th place teams get so many awards. Those teams were just plainly not very good. Which makes the kids just regular high school football players not all leaguers. It’s a shame.

  • Truth

This is ridiculous!!! I remember when only 2 players at each position were awarded All-League honors. What a joke!!! Why not award every player All-League so there would not be any upset players, daddies, and coaches. Coaches need to grow a pair and man up!!!

    To Anonymous,

I never said this kids didn’t work hard, simply commenting on what is presented. How can you give a QB 1st team when he did not complete the season, makes no sense. It should have been either Cantu or Adame MVP then the other 1st team. You gives these awards out, and you almost set up these kids for failure..You must be in the letterman jacket business!!!!

  • Just Saying 2

To TRUTH SAID: AMEN !!!! You got coaches that never got there SHOT so to speak, and their still trying to get all league…

    To Anonymous,

In no way am I belittle anyone. In the Pro’s they don’t have CO anything. In college, they don’t have “Co Heisman”. As a former high school “Dlineman of the Year”. I would have been upset to receive a “CO” award. I would almost rather not get the award. Kids go hard to be the best! Their is no way that, you can say a players performance was a tie. The only way that could happen is if they played the same position, had the “exact” Same numbers all year and in the game they played head up. The head up game would have had to end up in a tie, The teams had the same record and either lost in the same round of the playoffs, by the same score. You can always find a area where one player performed better than the other. So my point is proven. These coaches are in a love fest, where everyone is happy, and they are disrespecting the game and the awards. there can only be one “Best”, like there can only be one CIF Champ. If you remember two years ago, the city section had a tie in championship game. Both coaches were too afraid to go for the outright win. what a joke. City section changed that rule the next year. Why do you think the founders of football came up with two point conversion….So there would be a way to break a tie, which sucks! Sorry, but this is happening in all leagues, and it is gutless.

To Anonymous: Well said !!!! Too many Co’s, either your 1st or 2nd..

Hey to all my ex-sports players, that played some kind of sport in high school. Take time to thank your coach for being a great inspiration for making you into who you have become. Coaching takes time, sweat, and patience to deal with kids who sometimes think they know it all. If the man or women has taught you something that you still apply today in your life, them he or she has given you a tool to use to make yourself better. A lesson I have used from my coach was to work hard, and believe in what you’re trying to accomplish. If it doesn’t go your way the sun will still sine tomorrow. One thing us older folks still take pride in, is our love for the game, and desire to win. God Bless and keep dreaming because, it may come true!!!!!!!!!
