Football: U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Tour set to announce Monrovia standout Ellis McCarthy.

WHARTON, NJ (Oct. 12, 2011) - The 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Tour will visit Monrovia High School on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, to select defensive lineman Ellis McCarthy to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Monrovia High School will honor McCarthy before his teammates, classmates, fans and family during a press conference at lunch time in the middle of the new quad.

The five U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Tour teams travel across the country from late September to mid-December to announce all 90 players and 125 marching musicians to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and log a combined 30,000 miles.

For more than 11 years, the U.S. Army All-American Bowl has been the nation's premier high school football game, serving as the preeminent launching pad for America's future college and NFL stars. Adrian Peterson, Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, Ndamukong Suh, Marcus Lattimore and Andrew Luck all made their national debuts as U.S. Army All-Americans. The 2011 U.S. Army All-American Bowl drew a crowd of nearly 38,000 to the Alamodome, and was the most-watched sporting event on television over the weekend, excluding the NFL playoffs.
