BREAKING NEWS: Well, breaking news to me, at least. Add Keppel to another school that needs a football coach after Bobby Madrid resigned just before Christmas break.

Just heard today that Bobby Madrid, who coached at Keppel three years and led the Aztecs to breaking an 18-game losing streak in football, resigned his position sometime before Christmas break. We’ll have more on this later on the blog Wednesday. Madrid also is the school’s softball coach.

    Keppel has lost a Great Coach who was beyond dedicated, genuinely cared for these kids and was well respected by all!

  • Someone who knows

    It’s too bad that Bobby is no longer coaching. Keppel has a revolving door at the HC position which makes consistency difficult. Those of you that saw The Aztecs play this season saw an under-matched team play four quarters of football and won games which is a feat for this school.

    I just hope the administration supports the next coach and will get someone who will keep the Aztecs competitive.
