Maranatha makes big hire in girls volleyball.

Maranatha has hired former U.S. Women’s National Team Volleyball member and three-time All-American Jane Collymore as its next girls volleyball coach.

Collymore, a standout at Florida and two-time SEC Player of the Year, brings a wealth of experience to the Minutemen having played professinally (Italy, Puerto Rico).

Collymore is an impressive hire having earned Ben-Hill Griffin University of Florida Athlete of the Year honors as well as NCAA All-Tournament Team honors. She recorded over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs during her career at Florida and ranks in the top 10 in 51 categories of Florida’s record books. Collymore led her team to an NCAA runner-up finish in 2003 and graduated in 2005.

its nice to see, that a catholic/christian school can hire a competitive coach, the powers that be, said it couldn’t be done. We have also heard amat hired a san gabriel elite coach for girls volleyball, i don’t want to get my hopes up, but it would be great.
