La Canada 3, San Marino 2 — Spartans earn at least a share of Rio Hondo League title and guarantee themselves as being the No. 1 rep from the RHL in next week’s D-4 playoffs. Amazing stuff considering that LC won JUST TWO league games last season. Anthony Mizrahi’s 3-run blast in the first inning proved to be the difference. Alex Bang got the win for LC. The teams will play again tomorrow with San Marino fighting for its playoff life and ace Jeff Bain on the bump. LC is likely to counter with lefty ace Justin Lewis.
