VIDEO: Can Rio Hondo Prep repeat? A youtthful, but talented offensive line holds the key

Rio Hondo Prep joined Monrovia as the only two schools in the West Valley to win CIF-SS titles, earning Northeast Zdivision hardware.
Can the Kares repeat? I think they can, but it will depend on how they replace four of five offensive linemen.
Running back Nate Tayco is the top returning back in the area, but he can’t do it without the blocks up front.
I was at the Arcadia school today as part of a brief tour of some of the summer camps.

I went to a couple of RHP football games last year and I was very impressed with how they play! Physical, and very disciplined. So they keep talking about this online and they are the key this year… And they also said there is one guy returning and the other guys are stepping up and filling in spots, and they never said who the returning offensive lineman was? Does anyone have an idea?
But best of luck to them this year! And hopefully another championship!

Great job, Steve! The trenches on offense and defense (which wasn’t talked about much) will be the key for RHP this year. Mission Prep and Salesian look to be the big challenges in the Northeast Division. The Kares will definitely get better as the season goes along.

Not sure if you’re aware…RHP is going for a 3-peat, not just a repeat

Love the sled footage with the industrial looking water tank in the background! Screams Blue Collar!

Zack Stiver is lone returning OL. Other than Nate on offense, defense should be solid with Isaac Holguin and Jimmy Key returning.

Zack Stiver and Nate Tayco both play defense, and Isaac Holguin and Zack Stiver are also started on varsity for 3 years now so they should be solid all year
