Tuesday Roundup: South Pasadena beats Poly in boys water polo, 8-7

GIRLS TENNIS

South Pasadena and Pasadena Poly are two of the better boys water polo programs in the area this year, and the host Tigers got a leg up on the area rival Tuesday.
Pierce Deamer scored four goals to lead South Pasadena to an 8-7 victory over Poly in the season opener for both teams.
Cameron Lee and Derrick Kwock also had two goals each for the Tigers. Omar Dairi had three goals and Spencer Rogers two for the Panthers.
Will Renken blocked 10 shots in goal for South Pasadena.
GIRLS TENNIS
Pasadena Poly 15, Keppel 3

Juliet Johnson swept three to lead the Panthers who won this season opener for both teams.
Poly’s doubles teams of Erin Lee and Gisela Baker; Julia Wohl and Madison Carey and
Brooke Olson and Shalini Haupt also swept three sets.
Judy Ung won two of three sets for Keppel.
Marshall 14, Duarte 4
Tegwyn John swept three sets for the Eagles.
Marshall’s doubles teams of Marissa Zuniga and Maria Azilazian; Autumn Lee and Meri Avetisian and Casi Dimmock and Elena Carillo also swept three sets each.
Melanie Christofaro won two of three sets for the Falcons.
Hoover 11, Maranatha 7
Hailey McNall and Lauren Garcia each swept three sets to lead the Minutemen.
GIRLS GOLF
South Pasadena 222, La Salle 260

Katie Rosenberg shot a 39, four-over par as the Tigers won the top four spots in a dual match at Eaton Canyon Golf Course.
Caitlyn Yamashita and Amy Chong had 41 and 45 to finish second and third respectively for South Pasadena.
Brianna Steger had a 49 for La Salle.
