Star-News Super 23 Football Rankings: No changes in top 10; St. Francis still sets the pace

STAR-NEWS SUPER 23 RANKINGS
1. St. Francis (7-0) –
The Knights continue to look Golden, enacting on some revenge against Cathedral with a 31-21 win. They host Harvard-Westlake this week, needing a win to set up a first-place showdown at highly-rated Serra.
2. Monrovia (6-1) – The Wildcats have opened Rio Hondo League play by outscoring the opposition, 100-0. Don’t expect any challenge until their regular season finale at San Marino.
3. Muir (6-1) – The Mustangs beat Burbank, 24-17, in a battle of what most believe are the top two teams in the Pacific League. But Muir won’t have the title locked up before beating 1-2 showdowns vs. Arcadia and Crescenta Valley the next two weeks. Go with Muir in both.
4. Rio Hondo Prep (6-1) – The Kares continue to roll, routing Flintridge Prep, 63-22.
5. San Marino (6-1) – The Titans have scored 39 points or more in six of their seven games, including a 55-7 victory over La Canada last week. San Marino looks like Monrovia’s only challenger in both the Rio Hondo League and Mid-Valley Division.
6. La Salle (5-2) – The Lancers followed up last week’s scare with an easy win over Mary Star. They play for the league title this week against Bishop Montgomery/
7. Pasadena Poly (6-0) – Poly off to its best start in recent memory. Not only are the Panthers winning, but winning big. Their season rests next week when they host Rio.
8. Rosemead (6-1) – Matt Koffler’s back with the Panthers, which have put together a six-game win streak.
9. Arcadia (5-2) – The Apaches have taken care of business to put themselves in position to earn a league title and a playoff spot. Now they need to step up against the Pacific League’s best, beginning Friday against favorite Muir.
10. Maranatha (6-2) – The Minutemen enjoyed another blow-out win the Olympic League. They are off until playing for the league title next week vs. Whittier Christian.
