THURSDAY’S RESULTS
Crescenta Valley 49, Arcadia 14

Crescenta Valley put Arcadia into at-large mode quicky, leading 42-0 at half before settling for the 49-14 victory at Glendale High School. The loss eliminates the Apaches from receiving one the Pacific League’s three automatic playoff bids. Arcadia drops to 5-5 overall and finishes fifth in the Pacific League with a 3-4 record. The Apaches can apply for an at-large bid, but would be on the low end of the totem pole.

Is there any validity to the rumor that Cathedral was playing with an ineligible player and will be forfeiting games?

An Arcadia victory helps Monrovia’s strength of schedule. Let’s go Apaches!

Better yet, a CV victory elevates San Marino’s SOS. Fly high, Falcons!

And a Monrovia Win will elevate an Arcadia loss..lol

      • New York

This is a race-to-the-bottom statement, whether intentional or accidental.
I don’t think there is any nobility (no value in the rankings either) in losing to a good team. I would have respected the approach that an Arcadia victory would have enhanced a San Marino victory over Monrovia, because Monrovia’s SOS would have been increased by an Arcadia victory.

  • Viking v Viking

It’s a shame, for both teams, that Campbell Hall and Blair didn’t play each other.

  • Rio Pacific Conference

Tonight really proved 626′s point. How awesome would it be to have a league with Monrovia, San Marino, Muir, CV, and the Burbank schools?

And a league with Arcadia, Temple City, South Pasadena and regular Pasadena, Blair, La Canada, and the Glendale schools would be pretty interesting as well.

As it is, the majority of games in each league are tediously predictable, and far too likely to be blowouts.

Rio Pacific Conference supporters unite!!! Lol

Who wouldn’t want to see Muir play Monrovia with something on the line?

        • 626

Exactly! That would be a great one. It just makes for better competition. In addition, no issues like today where CV misses out on an At-large bid because of the weak league.
