The #IceBucketChallenge for ALS started on Monday at San Dimas High School and Wednesday the tour took us to Northview, where sports writer went to his alma mater to take the the challenge and he was joined by Vikings’ coach Marcel Perez, who both took the bath.
After Ramirez called showed “some love” to the Westside, calling out St. Francis coach Jim Bonds to take the challenge. Perez did the same to his former coach Greg Gano, who is now the head guy at Wilson. You guys have 24 hours to take the ice bucket or dig in to your pocket, all for a good cause.
Reigning Star-News Player of the Year Kyle Leufroy will leave St. Francis and move to the Bay Area, Knights co-head coach Ray O’Brien confirmed on Sunday night. Where Leufroy will play his senior season remains a bit of a mystery.
Leufroy led St. Francis to its best season in school history. The Knights advanced to the championship game of the CIF-SS Division 3-A playoffs.
He averaged just under 20 points per game in the postseason. He reached double figures in points in 32 of St. Francis’ 33 games this season. He scored 20 or more points in 33 games.
Sources say Leufroy will move to Benicia, Ca. and play for a prep school team.
