The South Pasadena High School football season is definitely over.
Tigers athletic director Greg Luna said on Saturday that Rio Hondo League principals determined CIF-SS rules were broken before Friday’s 21-3 victory against La Canada in a third-place showdown. The Tigers had to forfeit the victory.
“Administrators clearly thought they have enough supporting evidence for the league to warrant the decision,” Luna said. “We respect that decision. There are other implications still on our end.”
The Tigers also declined to submit an at-large entry playoff berth. With a 7-3 on-the-field record, they may have been one of the favorites to receive the Central Division’s lone spot.
