Muir names Sims football coach

Antyone Sims has been named the Muir High School football coach, pending school board approval.

Sims was an assistant coach in charger of quarterbacks for the Mustangs last season. He previously served as an offensive and defensive coordinator at Muir and was the Duarte offensive coordinator. He graduated from Muir in 1998.

He replaces John Hardy Jr., who coached the Mustangs for three years. He was 25-11, reaching the CIF-SS semifinals in 2013. Last season Muir went 6-5 and lost to Cathedral, 36-22, in the first round of the playoffs.
