Pasadena’s Flores named to U.S. training camp team

Pasadena native Dennis Flores is one of 28 players that have been called up to the U.S. National soccer team’s January training camp.
The midfielder played one year at Pasadena High School, his freshman year. He played for numerous clubs, closing out his amateur career with Pasadena coach Cherif Zein’s club squad. He signed and played with Club Leon of the Mexican League.
Flores, 21, is among 12 players eligible to play on the under-23 squad. The players begin camp Monday at StubHub Center. The U.S. plays games against Chile on Jan. 28 and Panama on Feb. 8.
