Friday Recap: Pasadena Poly gets 26 runs in softball win over Mayfield

Pasadena Poly 26, Mayfield 4
— The Panthers ran their overall record to 9-2 and their league record to 7-0. Sophomore Kayley McCord went 2 for 4 with a grand slam. Senior Alex Clark went 4 for 5 with a home run, and senior Becca Hanel went 4 for 4 with a home run. DeeDee Logan and Alex Clark combined for six strikeouts.
Gabrielino 11, Marshall 1 — Amanda Morales threw a comlpete game with nine strikeouts to lead the Eagles to victory. She also had three hits, including a triple and scored three times, boosting Gabrielino’s record to 7-5-1 overall and 5-2 in the Mission Valley League.

— Armando Ortega threw a one-run complete game with just four hits allowed and two strikeouts for the Eagles in a Mission League victory over Marshall. James Clapp went 3 for 4 with a double and four RBIs to advance Gabrielino’s record to 6-9 overall and 5-2 in league.

College Baseball
Providence Christian college, La Sierra
— In its final double-header of its inagural season, Providence Christian College swept La Sierra with 3-2 and 4-2 victories to end the season 26-19. Jason Broussard threw a complete game with 12 strikeouts to win the first game in seven innings. In game two, Sam Eichler threw a complete game with 14 strikeouts, and Richard Green hit a two-run home run.
