Elliott Erwitt is a French photographer known for decade's worth of sad, funny and absurd photographs of candid situations. A master of the "indecisive moment," Wikipedia calls him.
One of his most famous pictures is a close-up of of a chihuahua standing next to a great dane. The smaller dog barely comes up to the big dog's ankles.
Slate magazine has posted a gallery of some ofErwitt's most amazing animal photos. They manage to be sweet and weird at the same time. They're all black-and-white pictures, which means that my dog would make a lousy subject. In addition to being black and white, Rocket is also brown.
