Anchors Away

It's almost the Fourth of July. Really. It's next week already.

So be honest, isn't your dog just panting to express his inner patriot?  Why not indulge him a bit.  Here's a "Boat Dog Bed With Anchor Toy".  How cute is that?

And only $269.00 from www.muttropolis.com

Sadly, the sailor hat's not included.

How is your pooch going to celebrate the 4th?    dog bot.jpg

My dogs have full panic attacks when they hear fire crackers.... and we're already starting to hear some. Since many dogs panic and bolt out of their yards every 4th of July, it may help folks to know that you can calm your pet down with over-the-counter melatonin. 2 3mg tablets will safely calm a 60 lb dog (mine is a setter and she'd be in serious trouble without this).

The 4th of July is a stressful time for the pups in my household. Melatonin is a big help.

since San Pedro is specially bad with illegal fire works on the 4th of July, we'll pack up the pooches and head for the hills....no fire works allowed in the Santa Barbara Mountains due to fire hazards....no need to put any dog through this !!

About the Bloggers

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.

He spends his free time in dog parks, pet shops and always has an extra plastic bag in his pocket just in case. He also has a cat.
