Say hello to my not-so-little friend
Rocket is not a shy dog. He thinks every other dog on the planet is here for his barking pleasure.
But he's got a circle of good pals and one of them is named Riley. Riley is one of my favorites dogs at the San Pedro dog park too.
When we first met Riley (and his owner, Kathy Jo), Rocket was taller than Riley and quite happy bossing him around. At the time, Riley was only about four months old.
Well, Riley has grown a tad since then. Although he's only 7 months, he's pushing 100 pounds! And judging by the size of his bear paws, he could easily reach 5,000 pounds.
But he's as sweet and playful as a puppy could be. And he and Rocket still romp around, even though Riley can push Rocket around like a little toy.
Here's his picture and note he wrote just for readers of South Bay Pets. Pay special attention to those ears. I could fit my house inside those things!
Hey, names RILEY
I have BIG paws, but who looks at those anyway. I also have stripes right behind my ears,
My Pets picked me up at the Shasta County Sheriff Animal Facility. I can't tell you how happy I am that they did. Ya see, I now belong to 5 Pets. There's Mom, Dad, Jennifer (17), Jessica (11) and my favorite pet Joshua (7).
Joshua is really cool. Joshua is autistic but, he's always smiling and ready to play with me. My favorite place to play is the San Pedro "Off Lease" Dog Park. Josh likes to go there with Mom and watch me play with the other dogs.
I like to wrestle with Rocket, he's a hound dog; AARP, he's a white boxer; Palonie, she's a Shepard like me; and little Daisy, not sure what she is. But, we all have a great time at the park. Come by and visit if you'd like. We're usually there in the mornings around 8.

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.
Josh Grossberg grew up with the usual array of animals: goldfish, dogs, hamsters, parakeets and turtles. He now owns the loudest dog in the South Bay(
there is one little thingy Riley forgot to mention here......he just looooooves running between peoples legs and knocking them down....nice trick buddy...works everytime on unsuspecting dog park parents *bol*
