bumper_web_thumbnail_thumbnail.jpgStop by the Corner Store in San Pedro Saturday for a wine (and soda!) tasting, along with a dog and cat adoption. All proceeds go to the Bumper Foundation Animal Rescue and Adoption.

The "Taste of Autumn" will feature wines and sodas -- and even hummus -- for tasting ($15 for all or $5 for just the sodas), along with an artisan jewelry sale and the pet adoption.

The market is at 1118 W. 37th St. (just a block or two north of Paseo del Mar) in San Pedro.

And if wine, soda or hummus aren't your thing, the store also has a new menu and sells old-fasioned, hand-scooped malts and milkshakes.

There also will be live music by singer-songwriter Roz Esposito.

Tasting times are 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. The jewelry sale runs frmo 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

About the Bloggers

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.

Josh Grossberg grew up with the usual array of animals: goldfish, dogs, hamsters, parakeets and turtles. He now owns the loudest dog in the South Bay(Video: Rocket the Dog) and is the least popular person on his block. He spends his free time in dog parks, pet shops and always has an extra plastic bag in his pocket just in case. He also has a cat.
