My insecure dog
Poor Mr. Cowboy.
The fireworks in our part of town last night drove him to jump up onto the pillow next to my
head by 11 p.m. He typically prefers his own private sleeping space in his dog bed on the floor (which is fine with me), as does Tess.
Cowboy never gets on the bed unless he's super-stressed.
He's just not a party kind of dog, I guess. He worries so much about loud noises.
How did it go for all your critters last night?

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.

Poor Cowboy! Hope he has recovered. I can relate as I did something similar. LOL!!!
I live next to a moron here in Redondo. They've got 2 or more dogs that bark nonstop. They don't ever let the dogs in unless it rains. It'd be great if they ran away!
My cats were fine. It always reminds me of my first dog Silver. She used to cower cry near me unless I petted and comforted her nonstop. July 4th was also bad for my dogs.
We left for a party at about 9:30pm and didn't get back until about 1:30am. It was quiet when we left and when we got back. I was surprised that I didn't hear any fireworks leading up to midnight. Indi stayed home and she didn't seem traumatized when we got home. So all went well as far as I am concerned!!!
