Read in today's Daily Breeze about how a Torrance company has scored a spot in the spring Neiman Marcus InCircle catalog with a diamond dog collar.

iLoveDogs, an online business that specializes in canine nutritional supplements, has designed the special "La Jeune Tulipe" collar for the upscale department store's best-in-class merchandise. Below, Ricky, owned by Susan Gomez of Rolling Hills Estates, models the collar, valued at between $250,000 and $350,000.

What's the most you've ever spent on a dog collar?

The most I've spent on a dog collar was $100, and I thought that was bad. LOL It was the Uba, from Paco collars for my American Staffordshire Terrier. Next to that I've paid $98 for a red leather coach collar for my bull terrier. I love my dogs but $250,000 and $350,000 would be better spent elsewhere.

That is a little pricey for me. I love to dress my Yorkies up but I still watch how much I spend of them for frills. They get dressed up whenever we have company coming or they get to go out with us. Per item cost on average is $100.00 or less.

About the Bloggers

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.

He spends his free time in dog parks, pet shops and always has an extra plastic bag in his pocket just in case. He also has a cat.
