Got a bad dog?

Videotape him and bring the recorded evidence to one of three auditions this month to be on The Dog Whisperer show with Cesar Millan.

Producers Kay Sumner and Sheila Emery will be on hand at three PetCo locations -- La Canada (May 8), Westwood (May 15) and Lakewood (May 22) -- to take submissions for the show's sixth season on National Geographic.

From the press release:

The show is looking for a wide variety of dog problems, including unusual phobias, obsessions, fearful behavior, or any other unique situations that Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan could help transform.

Owners are asked to leave aggressive dogs at home. Dogs do not need to be present at the audition.

Owners need to bring a video (any format except memory cards) showing their dog's bad behavior. Submissions cannot be accepted without a video. Release forms should also be completed and brought to the audition.

Those forms can be found at the Dog Whisperer Web site.

All three auditions will be conducted from 4 to 5 p.m. The dates and locations are:

  • May 8: PetCo, 475 Foothill Blvd., La Canada, CA 91011
  • May 15: PetCo, 1873 Westwood Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90025
  • May 22: PetCo, 5215 Lakewood Blvd., Lakewood, CA 90712

To get a feel for what one of these auditions are like, we posted on the South Bay Pets blog and wrote a Daily Breeze story about the show's San Pedro audition last September.

About the Bloggers

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.

He now owns the loudest dog in the South Bay(Video: Rocket the Dog) and is the least popular person on his block. He spends his free time in dog parks, pet shops and always has an extra plastic bag in his pocket just in case. He also has a cat.
