Special dog needs a special home
Our Daily Breeze pet of the week today is Honey, a 1-year-old Chinese sharpei mix.
Honey, unfortunately, was hit by a car and now wears a pink cast on her left hind leg which was fractured. The leg will not ultimately heal, however, and veterinarians have recommended that the leg be amputated before she is adopted. The shelter will provide for the surgery and the costs -- if someone wants to adopt her.
If you can provide a good home for this special girl, she's at the Carson Animal Shelter, 216 Victoria St. 310-523-9566. Ask for ticket number A3964271.

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.
