New kitten: Gifts! Mice!
Sandy's now collecting office gifts for her new kitten -- a scratching post and treats appeared at her desk today (courtesy of fellow Daily Breeze staffer & cat owner Andrea Woodhouse):
And here's the kitty with one of his mice -- no name yet, Sandy's thinking of something Irish since he's orange. Suggestions welcome.



Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.

Well there's the standard Mickey but then you've got the whole image of Mickey Mouse that might cause the other cats of the neighborhood to laugh and point their tails at him.
How about Paddy for the shortened version of Padraig from which Patrick is derived? The latin origin means "noble" and he photographs like he aspires to nobility.
Rory is another classic Irish name to consider, one of my all time favorite names too.
Consider borrowing a name from one of the Irish red ale brewers? Here is a link to the major red ales produced from BeerAdvocate ranking them in taste and I think a few names could easily be picked from the list.

And the final suggestion proves how the leprechauns influence me - call him N.D. (Indy) to honor the Fighting Irish.
