*** UPDATED Puppy stolen in San Pedro ** Update: puppy is home
Bubba was returned to his owners tonight, dropped off at the Los Angeles Police Department's Harbor Division Station.
"He's home," said a tearful Tracy Antonovich as she snuggled Bubba in front of her house, surrounded by television cameras and cheering friends, relatives and neighbors.
I'll bet Bubba gets a special dinner tonight -- and more than a little pampering.
Check out some of Daily Breeze photographer Scott Varley's photos capturing the 8:30 p.m. homecoming. We've posted 2 of them below.

Some "welcome" to the neighborhood.
We have some new neighbors who were just moving in this weekend when their 11-week-old, purebred bull mastiff puppy, Bubba, was apparently stolen.
When I got home from church this afternoon, a crew of friends and relatives were mobilizing with signs and flyers in an effort to help the couple find their dog.
There's reason for hope. Another neighbor happens to have a video camera that's installed on their property and she says the stolen puppy caper was caught on tape. The videotape reportedly shows a woman driving up and stopping her gray FJ Cruiser (with roof racks), then picking the puppy up from in front of the house in the Vista Del Oro section of San Pedro.
The couple moving in had spent much time securing (they thought) the backyard for the puppy before moving in. But puppies are puppies and he apparently made his way out Saturday and was sitting in front of the house when he was seen being taken (the owners were gone).
Bubba was wearing a red collar and a large ID tag. He weighs about 25 pounds and is fawn colored. These are recent photos of him posted here.
If you know anything about his whereabouts, give his owners a call: 310-308-5666 or 310-892-2223. Hopefully with everyone on the look-out and a videotape of the incident, he'll be back in his new home soon.

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.

"...he apparently made his way out Saturday morning a and was sitting in front of the house when he was taken."
Although he was "lost" in front of his home, puppy was technically stray. The fact that he has not been returned is a bad reflection on the "finder." Hopefully, owners and puppy will be reunited soon.
Do the right thing and return the puppy whoever stole it.
The puppy was stolen because although he was out of his yard (Theresa), he did have a collar and identification on. The finder didn't bother to call the owners or even attempt to find the pup's home. I have heard that the license plate of the car is being blown up and so the puppy thief will be found sooner or later. Hopefully she returns the puppy sooner. Do the right thing and return the pup.
do the right thing and return the puppy!!
How could anyone not turn that dog in? A dog is a member of your family and this dog had name tags with identification on him. If you took the dog do the right thing and call the owners up. I am sure they will just be happy to have him back. Please return the puppy. He needs medication he has a infection and is on medication.
Come on Lady do the right thing and return the Puppy one way or another they will catch you. It's a shame that you would stoop so low and steal someone's puppy, do the right thing and return Bubba to his owners.
If the video tape can identify the license plate on the vehicle, a report should be filed with Harbor Division-L.A.P.D. for the theft of this puppy. The tape should be turned over to the police as well, as they have the ability (the Police now have probable cause) to run the license to find the name and address of the registered owner of the vehicle. The tape should show the person who stopped to take the dog as well. This crime is likened to someone stopping and stealing a small child who may innocently be playing or sitting in their front yards! Unless, we watch out for each other, notify and demand police presense as well as the the news media report to the public, the crimes that are happening and taking place in our neighborhoods, we will continue to be the victims of senseless crimes with no recourse!
Video surveillance may be a MAN or a woman. Wearing black short and black tank at time. Update to come.
Police cannot assist apparently until they have orginal footage of crime. The family is currently working on it. Police report has been filed and they've already went to police
