Frankie is a lovely, happy-go-lucky boy, who would be a wonderful companion.  He loves to go for walks and is very sweet and affectionate.  Losing Frankie would just be a tragedy!  He's a lovely boy!

She thinks she looks like Marilyn Monroe!!! Darla would like a quiet home with no children (or well-behaved children), please?  She just wants some peace and quiet and to get out of this shelter ASAP!  She still has a few pounds to lose, but with the right home, she'll have her figure back and be even more gorgeous!!! Loves to walk on the leash and enjoys socializing.

My name is Bentley and I am an unaltered male, brown brindle Tibetan Terrier mix.
The shelter thinks I am about 1 year and 6 months old. I have been at the shelter since Sep 05, 2009.

Bentley is not a rescue-only dog, but he needs to go to a place where people will help him overcome his fear.  There is no way he will be adopted from the shelter because he doesn't trust us and we can't show him, without dragging him out of cage.  He's too scared.  Please help this lovely, owner surrendered dog! He needs to get out right away!!!  His eyes say he wants to trust us, but he just can't yet and we all know a dog like this can only survive if a rescue has a foster who can help him - PLEASE?
Bentley is in a kennel with other dogs, so we know he's fine to go to a home with other dogs. HELP???

BAXTER - ID#A1058706

My name is Baxter and I am a neutered male, brown Boxer mix.
The shelter thinks I am about 4 years old.  I have been at the shelter since Aug 26, 2009.
Happy, joyful, full of affection and energy!  Baxter will make a wonderful family dog, for a family who likes to go for walks and play a lot.  I had him out yesterday and he's a lovely dog, with a sweet personality! Appears to be good with other dogs.

The friendliest little guy you ever met!  Always tries to please.  Perhaps tries too hard and overdoes the enthusiasm!!!  He loves to be held and cuddled and is a lovely little fella!  Someone please help dear little Tex?

Donna, when I get back from a trip on Tuesday I'll foster Bentley if he's still available. I've successfully used clicker training in the past to build confidence in shy dogs and I think I can get him ready to show and adopt. I'll call the shelter and alert them that I can take him next week.

About the Bloggers

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.
