Update 12/31: I just received this email from Michelle, the owners' daughter:

Donna:

Great News, Blondie has been found and my parents are on the way to pick her
up right now. Thank You so much for placing the article.

Michelle

We'll post more details as soon as we get them.

We received this email from Michelle Cripps about her parents' missing dog, Blondie:

My mom is a cancer survivor and her dog means everything to her. She got out on Saturday (12/26) night in the area of homes across from the Galleria. My parents have been residents of Torrance for 48 years. Their dog is a small little Papillon which only has three legs. She broke her leg two years ago and it would not heal so they had to remove it to save her life.

She was last seen on Sunday morning (12/27, at 8:30 a.m.) on the corner of 175th Street and Prairie Avenue. Someone was following her on foot. We think this person may have picked her up. We need to find her. Can you help us?

You can call Michelle at 949-702-0637 or email her at m.cripps@cox.net.

Blondie is 11 years old, weighs 5 pounds and is brown and white. She's very friendly. Owners are John and Alaine Fernandez and their number is 310-370-1308.

There is a reward.

Hopefully Blondie will get home soon.

More details to come.....

Last I heard, there's been no new leads on Blondie. The family has sent out pictures to local shelters and veterinary offices, and she is microchipped. We'll let you know if we hear more.

We're checking, will let you know.

About the Bloggers

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.
