A special home for Pepe?

Update: He has a new home as of 3/26. Thanks Priscilla! Looking forward to posting some new photos of Pepe in his new home.

Pepe, who is about 10 years old, really needs a home after his owner died. The other dog who lived in the home -- Pepe's constant sidekick -- has been adopted, so for now poor Pepe is in his owner's home -- all alone. (A family friend comes in to feed him.)

But time is short. The family needs to sell the house and is desperate to find a good home for him.

pepe 2.jpgI'm told he loves being around people and is definitely an indoor kind of dog. He's feeling timid, I'm told, due to his circumstances.

We're not sure which breed mix he is, but Pepe looks like a long-haired Chihuahua, though someone who knows the dog has suggested he may have some Sheltie in him.

About the Bloggers

Daily Breeze reporter Donna Littlejohn has shared her homes with a succession of wonderful, funny, and occasionally difficult canines -- Muffin, Fritz, Ellie, Mercy, Pilgrim and now Cowboy, an Australian shepherd-border collie, and Tess, a border collie. From strong-willed terriers to weirdly obsessed Australian shepherds, they've invaded her world with boundless energy, wet noses, muddy paws and soggy tennis balls. But they've really brought so much more than that -- like laughter and joy, some unexpected life lessons, and more than a few tears along the way.
